Sr. Project Manager, Salesforce Practice

Roles & Responsibilities

  • 5+ years of experience implementing software technology solutions as a Project Manager
  • 3+ years working in the Salesforce ecosystem, preferably within the Salesforce partner ecosystem
  • 2+ years of Agile (or Agile/Waterfall Hybrid) project or program leadership experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a professional services or consulting firm delivering projects to external customers

Requirements:

  • Drive projects on a hybrid Agile methodology, including agile release planning, backlog grooming, sprint ceremonies, and release deployment
  • Facilitate project management functions such as scheduling, resource management, budgets, project margins, compliance, hours approval, and risk management; maintain RAID log
  • Create and maintain project plans and schedules, manage and monitor work on user stories (e.g., in JIRA), manage WBS/resource planning and weekly burn; prepare status update reports; serve as primary escalation contact for budget, timeline, and scope
  • Mentor and lead junior PMs, ensure PMO standards are followed, and provide end-to-end project oversight from setup to go-live, including review of SOWs and Change Orders and coordination with Sales/Portfolio leadership

Job description

I. Role Overview

The A360 Sr Project Manager is core to delivering successful Salesforce projects & results to our external clients & will manage our internal project team members to drive Accelerize 360’s client projects forward to a successful Go Live.   Our Sr Project Managers will also play a crucial role in supporting defining, implementing and enforcing Project Management standards & PMO within our professional services organization.

The person qualified for this role must be effective in juggling multiple fast-paced engagements, and at the same time establish a trusted partner relationship with A360's customers. You will deliver projects using A360's methodologies and governance practices defined by the PMO and demonstrate exemplary verbal & written communications skills with external clients at all levels including executives and CxO's.

You will work closely with our clients to translate project objectives into achievable timelines while utilizing a hybrid Agile Scrum methodology and ensure the client achieves value from their Salesforce investment; understand their businesses, overall goals, objectives, pain points, areas of opportunity, the definition of success, etc. and seek a clear understanding of how success will be measured in the engagement.

Typical day-to-day project activities include driving project schedules, anticipating risk and variance, cost containment and disruption handling, managing all project/people forecasts and project status communications.

III. Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive projects on a hybrid agile methodology with focus on agile based release planning, user story grooming, user story estimations, sprint stand-ups & retrospectives, and release deployment
  • Facilitate project management functions including but not limited to scheduling, resource management, budgets, project margin, compliance, project hours approval & timeline
  • Exercise project control to efficiently manage task completion, contain scope and execute change requests as necessary, and identify and mitigate risks to the project
  • Guide the organization in PM best practices and mentor junior level PM’s

Deliver project tasks throughout the project lifecycle such as:

  • Create project plans and schedule, manage and update throughout the project
  • Manage & monitor ongoing work on user stories in a variety of applications including JIRA
  • Create & manage a Workforce Breakdown Structure (WBS) & resource planning /schedules
  • Monitor weekly/hourly project burn, track all utilization, update and manage accurate utilization, and manage capacity to keep team efficiently staffed
  • Create & send status update reports
  • Serve as the primary project and escalation contact as it pertains to budget, timeline and scope management
  • Participate and lead recurring project management and Scrum meetings as needed
  • Submit and review project weekly check ins
  • Manage project risk (track RAID log) and communicate anticipated risks to project stakeholders

Additional Project Duties:

  • Meeting prep (agenda, logistics, resource assignment)
  • Communicate action items and and next steps, post meeting
  • Partner with project leadership to Establish sprint schedules
  • Create sprint summary reports
  • Establish deployment plan (schedule, sequence)
  • Provide end to end Project Oversight
  • Review/complete project set up and go live checklists
  • Reviews and approves invoices, auditing for any rate mistakes, hours mistakes, misuse of terms, or any similar errors
  • Create & update project and resource forecasts
  • Review SOWs and Change Orders, collaborating with a Portfolio Director and Sales as appropriate
  • Manage and delegate work to the project team to ensure team meets all timelines
  • Manage conflicts with both internal and external teams and seek satisfactory resolutions

IV. Ideal Qualifications

  • 5+ years of implementing software technology solutions as a Project Manager
  • 3+ Years working in the Salesforce ecosystem, preferably in the Salesforce partner ecosystem
  • 2+ years of Agile (or Agile/Waterfall Hybrid) experience as a project or program leader
  • 4+ years of experience working for a professional services or consulting firm delivering projects to external customers
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills, with direct responsibility for managing project teams, budget and schedule
  • Strong customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support complex engagements
  • Proven history of delivering high quality results on schedule and within budget
  • Successfully manage and communicate with a remote distributed team
  • Willing to adapt to hours of work in non-traditional business hours pending project needs
  • Willingness to work US Eastern time zone hours
  • Full time resident in US

*Strong preference for experience in the Salesforce ecosystem, preferably with a a Salesforce partner firm or other hands on experience with Salesforce.com
