JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Part-Time Operations BI Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across our operations. This role will focus on building and maintaining KPI dashboards, improving reporting efficiency, and delivering actionable insights that enhance operational performance.

The ideal candidate is highly proficient in building dashboards from Excel, with a strong ability to translate complex data into clear, business-focused insights.

This is a remote, part-time position budgeted for 10-25 hours per week; flexible scheduling.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards to track key operational metrics 
  • Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources (Excel, LIMS, internal systems) 
  • Develop and maintain advanced Excel models (pivot tables, Power Query, formulas) 
  • Automate recurring reports to reduce manual effort and improve consistency 
  • Partner with operations leadership to identify reporting needs and performance gaps 
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support decision-making and process improvements 
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting tools 
  • Document data definitions, reporting logic, and workflows 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience as a BI Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role 
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI or alike (dashboard development, data modeling, DAX) 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, Power Query; VBA a plus) 
  • Experience working with operational or performance data 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders 
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in operational settings 
  • Familiarity with LIMS, ERP, or CRM systems 
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or data querying 
  • Experience building KPI frameworks and performance dashboards 


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma; plus, two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree
  • Basic knowledge of principles, terminology, practices, techniques and instrumentation commonly used in a laboratory setting
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage time to meet deadlines and rush orders
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work with delicate laboratory equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
