Senior Software Engineer (PHP) at Mukuru

What you’ll do

• Lead by example writing clean, scalable code that sets the standard for excellence
• Design and build impactful features that power our financial services platform
• Contribute to architectural decisions and influence technical direction
• Mentor and uplift fellow engineers, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration
• Continuously improve team processes, delivery, and engineering quality
• Stay ahead of industry trends and bring innovative thinking to the team

What you bring

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering
• Strong expertise in PHP and modern frameworks
• Solid understanding of web architecture, OOP, and design principles (SOLID)
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern Git workflows
• Exposure to microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
• Database experience (migration, transformation, scripting)
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS or similar)
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
