Entertainment Lawyer (M&A – Music Industry)


The role:

You will work with a premium, sell-side advisory firm specializing in the valuation, positioning, and strategic sale of music rights catalogs. The company works with artists, songwriters, producers, publishers, and rights holders globally, helping them maximize the value of their intellectual property through private, curated transactions.


Position: Entertainment Lawyer (Full-Time | Remote)

We are seeking an Entertainment Lawyer with exposure to M&A and transaction environments to support the legal aspects of music catalog transactions. This role will focus on reviewing rights, contracts, and supporting deal execution in a fast-moving, international environment.
Ideal for someone with 2–3 years of experience who wants to grow in music law, IP, and deal structuring.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze contracts related to music rights (publishing, masters, licensing agreements).

  • Support legal due diligence processes for catalog transactions.

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing transaction documents (NDAs, LOIs, APA support, etc.).

  • Evaluate chain of title and identify legal risks in music catalogs.

  • Coordinate with external counsel, clients, and internal teams during transactions.

  • Support negotiations by identifying key legal considerations.

  • Help ensure compliance with IP and entertainment laws.

  • Organize and manage legal documentation throughout deal processes


Requirements:

  • Law degree + qualified to practice (or in process, depending on location).

  • 2–3 years of experience in entertainment law, corporate law, or M&A.

  • Strong understanding of contracts and legal documentation.

  • Interest or experience in the music or entertainment industry.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with music rights (publishing, masters, royalties).

  • Exposure to international transactions or cross-border deals.

  • Familiarity with IP law and rights management.

  • Experience working with startups, media, or entertainment companies.
