Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement, including at least 5 years in direct procurement roles (e.g., Strategic Sourcing Analyst, Commodity/Category Manager, or Category Buyer).
  • Experience managing commodities such as fabricated metals, fasteners, and die-casting components, with electronics industry experience required (automotive preferred).
  • Proficiency in SAP, contract management, cost savings analysis, and advanced MS Office, with strong English communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Develop and execute multi-year category strategies for metals, fasteners, and die-casting components, aligning with engineering, manufacturing, product management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead competitive bidding, negotiations, contracting, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve targets in cost, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance across regions, including supplier selection, onboarding, performance metrics, and contract administration in SAP.
  • Collaborate with business units and cross-regions to optimize TE leverage and ensure procurement activities comply with TE policies and procedures and deliver measurable savings.

Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Strategic Sourcing Teams develop and implement multi-year strategies for assigned commodities, suppliers and parts/services to achieve established goals in supplier quality, delivery, price and service. They align strategy and execution with cross-functional partners such as engineering, manufacturing, product management and functional owners. They execute the competitive bid, negotiation, contracting processes and/or technical continuous improvement for assigned commodities or services; collaborate across Business Units and cross-regions for optimal TE leverage. Our teams demonstrate a high level of expertise in procurement competencies (business/supply chain acumen, negotiation, sourcing strategy development and execution, global savvy, and project and product lifecycle management) and ensure results are delivered compliant with TE policies and procedures.

 

Job Requirements

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field).
    • Master’s Degree preferred.

    Professional Experience

    • Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement, including at least 5 years in Direct Procurement roles such as:
      • Strategic Sourcing Analyst
      • Commodity Manager / Category Manager
      • Category Buyer
    • Demonstrated experience managing commodities such as:
      • Fabricated metals
      • Fasteners
      • Die casting components
    • Industry experience:
      • Electronics industry (required)
      • Automotive industry (preferred)

    Category & Supplier Management

    • Proven experience working as a Category Manager, Commodity Manager, Strategic Sourcing Specialist, or Category Buyer (Must Have – minimum 7 years)
    • Strong capabilities in Supplier Management (Must Have)

    Technical Skills

    • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Experience with SPC/Statistical Tools
    • Experience with SAP (Must Have)
    • Experience with Contract Management (Must Have)
    • Demonstrated competence in Cost & Savings Analysis (Must Have)

    Soft Skills & Core Competencies

    • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
    • Strategic mindset with excellent communication abilities
    • High intercultural competence and adaptability to collaborate with teams across multiple regions
    • Ability to negotiate with internal stakeholders and management teams

    Language Requirements

    • English: Required (Must Have) – strong communication capabilities

    Travel & Legal Requirements

    • Valid U.S. Visa is mandatory (Must Have)

    Travel: 10%-25%
