Senior Software Engineer

Help build the next generation credit card processing platform that powers real-world financial transactions. In this role, you’ll design and build high-performance transaction systems, APIs, and data pipelines using Microsoft SQL and modern backend technologies, while collaborating closely with engineering and data teams.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex backend problems and building reliable systems that operate in a 24/7 production environment where performance, reliability, and security are essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and support high-performance transaction processing systems that meet business and operational requirements.
• Design, build, and maintain API integrations and batch interfaces with business partners and internal reporting systems.
• Support and enhance existing data pipelines and reporting frameworks using Microsoft SQL and other development tools.
• Lead the resolution of ambiguous or complex technical problems, applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver effective solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, while contributing to strong engineering practices and testing standards.
• Follow secure coding standards and ensure all systems comply with data protection, security, and privacy requirements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, clearly communicating trade-offs between speed, scalability, and maintainability.
• Contribute to the growth of the engineering team through knowledge sharing, documentation, and technical demonstrations.
• Other duties as assigned.

 REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5–8+ years of professional software development experience, including building low-latency, high-volume, and high–availability systems in a 24/7 production environment.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL and at least one programming language such as Go, PHP, Java, or C#.
• Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, API design, and modern development tools including AI-ssisted development tools.
• Familiarity with payment industry standards, such as ISO 8583, and experience integrating with Visa, Mastercard, or other payment networks.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements, particularly PCI DSS.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and production incident management skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote engineering environment.
• Ability to work within CorServ’s footprint (AL, FL, GA, IA, KY, NE, NC, TN, TX, WI, WY)
