Job description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Summer Property Insurance Underwriting Intern will support our underwriting team in evaluating property risks, analyzing data, and contributing to the decision-making process on insurance applications. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the underwriting cycle, risk assessment, and industry best practices.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Assist underwriters in reviewing property insurance applications and supporting documentation
•    Perform risk analysis using internal tools, guidelines, and third-party data sources
•    Participate in file audits, underwriting meetings, and training sessions
•    Support team with data entry, document management, and administrative tasks
•    Collaborate on special projects or presentations related to underwriting strategies


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
•    Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business, or related field
•    Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with insurance systems is a plus
•    Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
•    Interest in a career in insurance, underwriting, or risk management


Compensation$20/hr.
