Spatial Analyst (Remote Sensing)

Due to our sustained organisational growth, we are currently seeking an early career spatial analyst to join our Biodiversity Team.

You will be responsible and accountable for:

• Contribute to the delivery of projects using remote sensing and other spatial analysis techniques
• Work within a broad, interdisciplinary team to assist in delivering products such as remote sensing assessments, habitat mapping and modelling, and other technical spatial services as required
• Assist in interpreting remote sensing and other geospatial outputs in an environmental context and provide inputs into reports.

• Minimum of 2 years relevant professional experience in remote sensing
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Remote Sensing / GIS / Spatial Sciences / Surveying
• A multi-disciplinary approach to collaboration, and flexibility/willingness to work across multiple sectors
• Exceptional teamwork and relationship building skills
• Ability to thrive in fast paced consulting environment

Mandatory Requirements:

• Demonstrated commercial experience in optical remote sensing analysis and interpretation for environmental applications
• High level of proficiency using the ESRI ArcPro
• Proficiency with QGIS
• A background in environmental sciences and/or ecology
• Strong report writing skills

Desired:

• Preferred location for position is Brisbane, but other locations may be considered for the right candidate
• Experience with both active and passive remote sensing approaches
• Experience mapping and monitoring vegetation using remote sensing at various spatial scales
• Experience with ArcGIS Online and Field Maps
• Professional experience working in carbon sequestration, mine rehabilitation, approvals, and/or renewables
• Exposure to Python and/or R for analysis and process automation
