Job description

This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Calix is looking for an intern to join our Field & Partner Marketing organization for the summer. The Calix Summer Internship program is a unique and award-winning program that will provide you with education into Calix and an opportunity to get inside experience into a dynamic and high-performing marketing organization. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning. The duration of the program is expected to be 90 days.

This role is designed to help build scalable, repeatable marketing foundations—campaign frameworks, reusable assets, event engagement models, and performance tracking—that enable the team to execute more efficiently and consistently. The intern will work on projects that cut across partner programs, events, thought leadership, and go to market campaigns, helping transform marketing activity from one off execution into repeatable, measurable programs.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a marketing student interested in programmatic marketing, campaign operations, and ROI driven execution within a fast paced, high growth organization.

Key Projects and Responsibilities:

Scalable Campaign & Program Foundations:

  • Help build and document repeatable marketing campaign frameworks that can be applied across multiple initiatives.
  • Develop reusable templates (briefs, timelines, reporting views, asset checklists) that support consistent execution.
  • Assist with documenting processes and organizing shared resources so work can be easily reused and scaled.

Campaign Execution & Enablement:

  • Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns aligned to business goals (e.g., adoption, engagement, awareness).
  • Assist with coordinating inputs, timelines, and deliverables across stakeholders.
  • Track campaign progress and outcomes using defined success metrics.

Social Media & Thought Leadership Enablement:

  • Help create reusable social media templates, primarily for LinkedIn, that support campaigns, events, and thought leadership.
  • Assist in establishing a consistent social cadence for events and key marketing moments (pre‑event, during, post‑event).
  • Organize social assets and copy so they are easy to adapt and reuse across initiatives.

Event Engagement & Pre-Outreach Support:

  • Support event‑related marketing efforts, including building excitement and engagement before events.
  • Assist with event attendee list preparation, helping turn lists into outreach‑ready account and contact views.
  • Help identify data gaps and ensure lists are clean, organized, and usable for pre‑event engagement.

Measurement, ROI & Performance Tracking:

  • Assist with gathering and organizing data to support event and campaign performance tracking.
  • Help maintain simple reporting views that highlight engagement, outcomes, and learnings.
  • Contribute to post‑event or post‑campaign wrap‑ups that inform future planning and optimization.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Reusable frameworks, templates, and tools are created that the team continues to use after the internship.
  • Campaigns and events are easier to execute due to better organization and clearer processes.
  • Social and event promotion feels more consistent and intentional.
  • Performance tracking is clearer, enabling better visibility into impact and ROI.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. Preference will be given to students who have completed their Junior or Senior Years and who have previous work or internship experience.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams.
  • Strong written communication skills and interest in building structured, repeatable content.
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Interest in campaign operations, program management, and data‑driven marketing.
  • Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June to September).

Location:

  • Remote-based position located in the United States or Canada.
