Roles & Responsibilities

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of health insurance authorization processes and billing codes, with ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements:

  • Screen all new patients to ensure intake submissions are complete; collect missing documents, obtain insurance information, and update records in the database.
  • Conduct patient phone interviews and accurately enter information into medical history intake forms; schedule patient appointments and pre-schedule related educational classes.
  • Coordinate collection of tests, reports, and dictations for patient evaluations; retrieve and document information in patient medical records; triage patient needs and direct inquiries to appropriate care plans.
  • Prepare standard quality and benchmarking reports, basic spreadsheets, and other documentation; mail program materials and track surveys; assist with department meetings while maintaining confidentiality.

Job Description:

Screens all new patients, ensuring intake submissions are complete and include all necessary documents and records. Contacts patients to request or complete missing information required for intake review submission. Obtains insurance information and forwards it to financial personnel, scanning, entering, and updating all pertinent records into the database. Conducts phone interviews with patients and accurately enters information into medical history intake forms. Ensures patient appointments are completed per department standards and pre-schedules associated patient educational classes as appropriate. Coordinates the collection of tests, reports, and dictations necessary for patient evaluations, retrieving and documenting information accurately into patient medical records. Triages patient needs and directs inquiries appropriately, accessing Priority Consult scheduling screens and contacting patients with physician recommendations for care plans. Mails required and informational program materials and tracks programmatic surveys, ensuring information is entered into the program database. Prepares standard quality and benchmarking reports, basic spreadsheets, and other necessary documentation. Utilizes professional interpersonal skills and displays a caring and courteous attitude, representing the department positively. Promotes and contributes positively to intradepartmental relationships, maintaining confidentiality of patient and departmental information at all times. Assists with coordination of department meetings and other clerical responsibilities in the absence of department administrative support. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
