Requirements:

  • Oversee daily network and telecommunications operations across the Building Supplies Division, including monitoring, maintenance, installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Provide primary network and IT system support to users via face-to-face, phone, email, or other channels, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
  • Assist with planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of network security in collaboration with the Cyber Security Manager.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance and disaster recovery planning, including testing server recovery procedures to ensure operational continuity.

We are seeking a talented and dynamic individual who shares our values to join our team as a Network Administrator.

Reporting to the IT Manager, this role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network systems across the Building Supplies Division, including LAN/WAN connections, servers, communication links, and software. It involves troubleshooting network issues, analysing traffic, providing capacity planning, resolving hardware and software problems, supporting end-users, and assisting with the Acumatica ERP system.

The successful applicant will work partially remotely with our Building Supplies companies in St. Vincent, Grenada, St. Lucia and Barbados.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Network Operations Management: Oversee daily network and telecommunications operations, including monitoring, maintenance, installation, configuration, and administration across the Building Supplies Division to ensure smooth IT performance.

User Support & Troubleshooting: Provide primary network and IT system support to users via face-to-face, phone, email, or other communication channels, ensuring high levels of service and prompt resolution of issues.

Network & Server Security: Support planning, implementation, monitoring, and documentation of network security in collaboration with the Cyber Security Manager to safeguard IT infrastructure.

Preventative Maintenance & Disaster Recovery: Coordinate and assist with server and network maintenance schedules, repairs, and disaster recovery plans, including testing of server recovery procedures to ensure operational continuity.

Technology Monitoring & Innovation: Monitor technology trends and emerging solutions, keeping management informed and adopting innovative practices.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in diverse Information Technology environments, including LAN/WANs, operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, Linux, and open-source platforms, and firewalls.

  • LAN/WAN administration and experience with Cisco and Fortinet devices (firewalls and switches).
  • Network+ or Cisco certification.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker qualification.
  • Proficiency in Windows environments and batch scripting (DOS).
  • Administration of servers with Windows, Linux, and UNIX.
  • Programming skills in C, CSS, Java, JavaScript, PHP, or Visual Basic.
  • Database administration experience.
  • Familiarity with SIP and VoIP technologies.
