  • Lead or participate in project planning and execution, including estimates, prioritization, status reporting, and cross-team communication (Jira)
  • Design and implement reusable components and web applications from requirements through design and production deployment; mentor development teams

Job Description: Senior Web Developer - Remote

REMOTE

Description:
The MHS is responsible for providing quality healthcare to active-duty members and retired military personnel, and their families. Sharing information and implementing useful advanced technology capabilities are essential to the successful delivery of quality healthcare and the optimization of MHS resources. MHS web services and web applications provide resources that all MHS customers and supported organizations may utilize for data sharing and operations while maintaining data integrity and ensuring information is exchanged securely. PEO MS/CIO (J6) is the technical manager for health care information systems and networks. It is J6's responsibility to provide an advanced and robust IT environment that supports a wide variety of business processes within the MHS business areas. The web services infrastructure provides access to systems and office automation tools and data sharing websites used in the day-to-day operations and delivery of health care related information to all MHS supported partners and beneficiaries.

In support of this mission, Peraton is looking for a proven Senior Web Developer to join the team in support of a development environment to help drive system innovation for related services and designing web-based applications with a focus on performance, usability, and security.

Responsibilities:
• Performs full-stack secure web development including front-end user interfaces, business logic, and data layers.
• Partners with UX analysts to create effective end-user experiences.
• Collaborate with testers and QA analyst to ensure products are of high quality and fit for use and intended purpose.
• Participates in the strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of the software products.
• Execute software development projects to include, ensuring that projects are completed on time and according to quality standards, facilitating communication upward and across project team including project status, justifications for variances and technical information.
• Estimates and prioritizes and tasks using Jira with the assistance of architects and managers.
• Monitors technology trends such as AI-assisted development
• Creates web applications and components from the requirements stage, through design, to production deployment.
• Possesses a thorough knowledge of programming and server software operations.
• Designs and implements reusable components for rapid application development

Skills:
• Strong customer service and communications skills, both oral and written
• Strong critical thinking skills that facilitate expedient problem solving
• Expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Proficient in backend development using Active Server Pages (ASP.NET), C#, Javascript
• Experience with Sitecore Content Management System (CMS) and web development best practices for secure DoD environments
• Experience with SQL, database design, schema development, and backend logic
• Skilled in developing responsive, accessible, and scalable web applications
• Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and solve complex issues efficiently
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring development teams and collaborating with stakeholders
• Should have experience with agile development methodologies and be able to lead project planning, estimation, and tracking efforts
• Familiarity with MVC5 framework, PWAs, or mobile apps a plus

Requirements:
• 8+ years progressive experience in the use and deployment of mobile applications
• 4 yr degree in and IT or math related field/or equivalent years of experience
• Current active IAT II certification with related web development Computing Environment (CE) certification(s) to comply with DoD 8570 and DoD 8140.03 requirements .
• Must be a US Citizen
• Experience working within Military Health environments is a plus
