  • Providing the highest level of technical expertise to analyze and resolve complex financial case consultations, and managing case escalations as needed.
  • Delivering underwriter training and development and providing training on complex financial topics; supporting committees and projects across the enterprise.
  • Communicating directly with NM financial representatives, clients, outside CPAs, and attorneys on complex cases; providing financial expertise to leadership at all levels and maintaining current accounting, business valuation, and estate planning knowledge through continuing education.

Summary:

Responsible for setting and updating the company’s financial standards and requirements for life and disability insurance underwriting. Collaborates across teams to assure adherence to those standards and requirements. Provides financial underwriting expertise on case consultations. Supplies financial expertise for underwriter training, projects, and committees across the enterprise.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for setting and updating the company’s financial standards and requirements for life and disability insurance underwriting. This requires researching, developing, writing, reviewing, and implementing new and revised standards and requirements. 
  • Provides the highest level of technical expertise to analyze and resolve complex financial case consultations. 
  • As needed, communicates directly with NM financial representatives, clients, outside CPAs, and attorneys on complex cases.
  • Provides financial expertise to all levels of leadership across the enterprise.
  • Provides leadership and technical expertise to committees and projects across the enterprise.
  • Provides technical expertise for underwriter training and development. Delivers training on complex financial topics.
  • Resolves complex case escalations by providing technical and standard-setter expertise.
  • Maintains the highest level of current accounting, business valuation and estate planning knowledge through continuing education and the review of professional publications.

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Superior analytical and decision-making skills that balance flexibility, critical thinking and judgement.
  • High degree of personal initiative and the ability to work independently and deliver timely results in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to train, develop and mentor underwriters.

Compensation Range:

Pay Range - Start:

$94,640.00

Pay Range - End:

$175,760.00

Geographic Specific Pay Structure:

Structure 110:

$104,090.00 USD - $193,310.00 USD

Structure 115:

$108,850.00 USD - $202,150.00 USD
