Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with server hardware, server operating systems (Windows and Linux), and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware and Nutanix).
  • Deep knowledge of Storage Area Networking (SAN) technologies and the ability to design, build, and maintain SAN components.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, Exchange, Office 365) and backup technologies (e.g., CommVault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam).

Requirements:

  • Lead development and implementation of key infrastructure technologies to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure IT service delivery (hardware, OS, virtualization, system management).
  • Collaborate with IT stakeholders to influence strategic direction for core infrastructure and coordinate with infrastructure and application teams to align business needs with the strategic plan.
  • Engage with software and service vendors, including negotiating contracts and maintenance agreements related to infrastructure.
  • Communicate technical architecture strategies and support requirements to project committees, development teams, vendors, and other stakeholders; build strong relationships with Infrastructure, SCADA, Security, and Operations groups.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is eligible for remote work in one of the following states: Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, or Wyoming. This position will require some travel for office meetings, as needed, to our corporate office in Tulsa, OK.

Job Profile Summary

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for helping develop and execute long-term strategic goals of the ONEOK infrastructure organization. They will provide technical leadership and help drive the execution and delivery of information technology projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Participate in and sometimes lead development and implementation of key technologies utilized to ensure efficient, reliable, and secure delivery of IT services. This includes hardware solutions, operating systems, virtualization, and system management technologies.
• Collaborate with IT stakeholders to influence strategic direction for key infrastructure areas and lead coordination and consultation with infrastructure and application personnel to ensure business needs are driving the strategic plan.
• Interact and collaborate with key software and service vendors. This includes assisting in the negotiation of contracts and maintenance agreements related to infrastructure.
• Consult with application teams and other project managers on any technical architecture strategies for large-scale systems. Ensure that technology acquisitions related to application projects are in line with overall strategies.
• Work with Management to communicate relevant information to project committees, development teams, vendors, and other key stakeholders as it relates to technical support and problem resolution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including ONEOK Infrastructure, SCADA, Security, and Operations organizations.
• Assist in the development of processes and technology associated with the infrastructure required to support ONEOK’s technology environments.


Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience plus the following job-related experience:


Experience

• Extensive hands on experience with the following technologies:

-Server Hardware: Ability to manage and troubleshoot server hardware.

-Server Operating Systems: Administration of Windows and Linux Operating Systems

-Storage Area Networking: deep knowledge and experience with SAN technologies. Ability to build and maintain all SAN components (storage hardware, switching, zoning, etc.)

-Virtualization Technologies: experience building and administering virtualization technologies including, but not limited to, VMWare and Nutanix

-Microsoft Technologies: Experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, etc.

-Backup Technologies: Experiencing administering backup technologies. Examples include CommVault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, etc.

• Broad high-level understanding of all major components of IT infrastructure.

• Proven track record of collaborating on the design and implementation of complex systems.

• Proven background in management of information technology environments.

• Experience leading large projects and managing implementations of complex interdependent systems.

• Experience preparing internal and external correspondence, status reports, business cases, technical standards, and procedures.

• Experience developing information, conducting meetings, and making presentations.
