Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a highly skilled Junior Product Owner with strong healthcare domain expertise to lead the vision, strategy, and execution that support clinical, operational, and patient‑facing workflows for the World Trade Center Health Program. This role requires a blend of product thinking, regulatory awareness, and the ability to translate complex healthcare needs into clear, actionable requirements.

The World Trade Center Health Program is a limited federal health program administered by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Program provides no-cost medical monitoring and treatment for certified WTC-related health conditions to those directly affected by the 9/11 attacks in New York, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for healthcare applications (Members profiles, Claims, Providers)

  • Translate Clinical, Operational and Regulatory requirement into user stories

  • Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and priorities aligned with organizational goals.

  • Translate healthcare business needs into clear product requirements and user stories.

  • Evaluate market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to inform product direction.

  • Own and prioritize the product backlog based on value, risk, and stakeholder input.

  • Ensure user stories are well defined, testable, and aligned with acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborate with engineering and data teams to refine requirements and plan releases.

  • Facilitate cross functional communication to ensure alignment and transparency.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for product decisions and tradeoffs.

  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review sessions.

  • Ensure product releases meet regulatory, security, and interoperability standards.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with strong healthcare domain expertise

  • Must have a minimum of 5-years product owner experience

  • Must have familiarity with healthcare standards such as HIPAA, CMS regulations, HL7/FHIR, ICD/CPT, or revenue cycle processes.

  • 5+ years of experience as an Agile Product Owner or Product Manager in a Healthcare Program environment.

  • Ability to translate complex problems into simple, intuitive solutions.

  • Strong prioritization, decision making, and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly regulated environment.

  • Healthcare Program experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience supporting the World Trade Center Health Program or other federal government health contracts.

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex clinical rules into technical system requirements

The likely salary range for this position is $85,093 - $94,300. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
