JOB SUMMARY:
The Aviation Financing Specialist I provides operational and member service support throughout the loan process. Working closely with Account Executives and members, this role helps maintain an efficient loan workflow by coordinating communication, reviewing application materials for completeness, collecting required documentation, and assisting with follow-up activities needed to move loans through the process. The Aviation Financing Specialist I responds to member questions, helps resolve routine issues, escalates more complex concerns when appropriate, and performs a variety of tasks related to aircraft loans and ongoing loan operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, sound organizational ability, and the capacity to manage a high volume of work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as a liaison between Account Executives and members to facilitate seamless communication and an efficient loan process.
Support clients throughout the loan lifecycle by answering questions, resolving issues, and providing timely updates
Review loan application packages for completeness and accuracy, including tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, and other financial documents
Partner with members to collect and submit all required documentation for lender approval
Help manage a high-volume pipeline of loan applications while maintaining strong attention to detail
Perform administrative and operational tasks such as:
Sending post-funding thank-you communications
Processing complimentary memberships
Updating aircraft and loan records

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1- 2+ yearsβ experience managing high-volume loan pipelines or financial service operations.
Comfortable with reviewing financial documentation such as tax returns, pay stubs, and bank statements.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
General Aviation enthusiast or pilot.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position works in an office setting.
Typical working hours are 8:30 am β 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with a one-hour lunch break.
Generally, a climate-controlled environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions when attending aviation related events, including exposure to higher altitudes and confined spaces if in a general aviation aircraft.

The physical demands of this position are typical of a standard office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly be required to:
Sit for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
Use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
Communicate effectively via email, phone, and in-person, which requires clear speech, hearing, and vision.
Occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 15 pounds, such as boxes of materials or equipment.
Occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms during the course of normal office activities.

This position is located at AOPAβs Frederick, MD, office.
The compensation for this position is: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on education and experience. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible to participate in a quarterly incentive program.
