Job Description

Position Description: / CLVS CLERK

The CLVS clerk is responsible for verifying and uploading customs documentation for immediate release. Must be able to work effectively while under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to work with other team members. The candidate must be quick and accurate in daily decisions. Future growth in the CLVS team is a consideration for processing shipments.

Day shift - Monday to Friday - 8:00AM - 4:00PM  or 9:00 – 5:00PM (Remote - Working from Home)

Responsibilities:

  • Daily keying entries and commercial invoices into the ITMR4 system from courier portal websites (UPS, FedEx, DHL)
  • Understand perishable shipments and the importance of following up
  • Managing Outlook and answering customer and internal analyst inquiries
  • Draft and send emails to clients and carriers for missing information for Customs release. (PO’s)
  • Managing inbound and outbound calls by phone

Essential Functions:

  • Strong organization skills, able to prioritize work while keeping strict deadlines
  • Attention to detail, able to handle large volumes of work with accuracy
  • Strong problem-solving / organizational skills with memory retention for all clients SOP/instructions
  • Able to read and understand a commercial invoice and select the proper client
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to work without supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience with Descartes ITMR4 would be an asset
  • Must be able to type with a minimum of 40-50 wpm

Qualifications

High school graduate

 

Additional Information

  • 8- hour shift (one hour lunch plus two fifteen- minute breaks)
  • Monday to Friday
