About the Company

Katapult is a nearshore software development agency that combines the best talent in LATAM, with world-class execution and leadership experience, with an AI-first approach to product engineering. Katapult works with PMF+ startups and businesses in the United States with a team-augmentation model. That means we either become or augment their current product engineering team.


Role Overview

As a Product Leader, you will work closely with the engineering team and collaborate directly with US-based founders to bridge business needs and product execution across the platform from understanding compliance workflows and marketplace dynamics to translating them into clear, actionable product decisions. You will be responsible for deeply understanding the business, staying close to the users, and pushing the product forward on every front. This is a hands-on product role with significant ownership over backlog prioritization, prototyping, and quality serving populations that depend on accessible, reliable housing solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand the business model, user needs, and platform workflows to inform product decisions.

  • Design and iterate on low and high-fidelity prototypes to validate ideas before development.

  • Define, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog in alignment with business goals and user value.

  • Lead QA processes to ensure features are delivered with quality and meet acceptance criteria.

  • Act as a connector between engineering, design, and stakeholders pushing forward on all fronts.

  • Communicate progress, trade-offs, and blockers clearly with US-based founders and stakeholders in English.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Ownership in tech environments.

  • Good English communication skills (spoken and written): able to interact with US-based founders comfortably.

  • Ability to create prototypes and wireframes (Figma or equivalent).

  • Strong product sense and user empathy especially for non-technical or vulnerable end users.

  • Experience with backlog management and agile methodologies.

  • Hands-on approach to QA: able to test features, write test cases, and flag issues.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with strong ownership.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to AI-first products or workflow automation.

  • Experience in real estate tech, proptech, or compliance-heavy platforms.

  • Familiarity with US housing regulations or subsidized housing programs (e.g., Section 8 / HUD).

  • Experience working with distributed teams across US + LatAm.
