About the Company

Katapult is a nearshore software development agency that combines the best talent in LATAM, with world-class execution and leadership experience, with an AI-first approach to product engineering. Katapult works with PMF+ startups and businesses in the United States with a team-augmentation model. That means we either become or augment their current product engineering team.

Role Overview

As a Staff Full-Stack Engineer, you will work closely with the lead engineer and collaborate directly with US-based founders to design and build end to end features across the platform from marketplace and applicant flows to compliance tooling and property management dashboards. You will be responsible for delivering clean, intuitive interfaces for diverse user types, maintaining backend services and APIs that support complex compliance workflows, and contributing to platform architecture decisions. This is a product heavy engineering role with significant ownership over code quality, scalability, and the end to end user experience serving populations that depend on accessible, reliable housing solutions.

  • Work with an AI-first mindset, identifying opportunities to automate and simplify complex compliance and administrative processes.

  • Design and build end-to-end features across the platform (marketplace, applicant flows, compliance tooling, property management dashboard).

  • Develop clean, intuitive user interfaces for diverse user types (applicants, property managers, state entities).

  • Design and maintain backend services and APIs that support complex compliance workflows and data management.

  • Contribute to platform architecture decisions, ensuring scalability and reliability as the product grows.

  • Collaborate directly with US-based founders and stakeholders, communicating progress and trade-offs clearly in English.

  • Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and documentation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer building production-grade web applications.

  • Good English communication skills (spoken and written): able to interact with US-based founders and stakeholders comfortably.

  • Front-end / UI: modern frameworks (React or equivalent), ability to build clean and functional interfaces for non-technical end users.

  • Backend: API design, database management, workflow automation, and compliance-related data handling.

  • Experience building SaaS platforms or marketplace products.

  • Ability to think in end-to-end systems: understanding how applicant flows, property management, and compliance connect into a single platform.

  • Empathy for the end user: this platform serves vulnerable populations product sensitivity matters.

  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with strong ownership.

Nice to have

  • Experience in real estate tech, proptech, or compliance-heavy platforms.

  • Familiarity with US housing regulations or subsidized housing programs (e.g., Section 8 / HUD).

  • Experience with AI-first products or workflow automation using LLMs.

  • Experience working with distributed teams across US + LatAm.
