Job description

Future. Discover. Together.
The introduction of AI applications places high demands on optical connections in data centers. In addition to the approach of fewer parallel channels with very high data rates, an alternative concept is also considered promising, in which a large number of parallel connections with comparatively low data rates are used. Such architectures enable a potentially more energy-efficient design of the optical front ends, as they place lower demands on signal processing, modulation, and electronic components. The HHI is conducting a study on this topic that examines various aspects of such a transmission system. Extensive simulations and experimental validations in the laboratory are planned in order to systematically evaluate the performance, scalability, and efficiency of the concept. Become a part of our team and join us on our journey of research and innovation!
