Position: Senior Certification Manager
Reports to: Director of Association Management

The Senior Certification Manager supports PMG’s goals, values and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, quality service, commitment, and accountability. The position performs as a strategic and operational leader for PMG and our client’s initiatives related to certification and credentialing programs. The position plans and coordinates with volunteers and staff in all aspects of societies' credentialing programs, and manages and supports assigned association committees, task teams, and technical liaisons. The Senior Certification Manager ensures communication and understanding of these activities among the staff and volunteer leadership, and ensures an accurate, consistent message in PMG’s credentialing initiatives.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following but are not limited to:
Leadership and Development
- Collaborate with other staff for strategic planning, roadmap, and goal development for Certification.
- Consistent with the Board’s governing policies, identify, implement, and support initiatives to provide knowledge and tools to improve practice, workplace performance and recognition of society certifications.
- Assess current staff and contractor capacity to meet strategic goals.
- Ensure continuous improvement and staff focus on high quality work, enhance efficiency, technical innovations and member/stakeholder relations.
- Oversee creation of analytical reports to monitor trends via real-time reporting and track success metrics for society’s certification programs.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop staff to establish and meet certification team, and individual goals, while ensuring productivity, collegiality, and excellence.
Credentialing:
- Develop and implement program growth strategies that elevate credibility and drive revenue.
- Research and contract with credentialing research and testing vendors.
- Negotiate vendor contracts by going through the RFP process for selecting vendors. Manage ongoing relationships with all external vendors and ensure accurate invoicing processes. In collaboration with testing vendor, manage the development, delivery and scoring analysis of certification exams.
- In collaboration with testing/research vendor(s) and with volunteers, conduct and lead job task analyses, item writing, item review and standard setting processes and meetings (in-person or virtual).
- Serve as an escalation point of contact for member and customer communication for daily email and phone calls by exam candidates and prospects.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to certification.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of exams, scores, data management, policies, website accuracy, and correspondence.
- Review/create/edit certification and credentialing policies and procedures as needed (with minimum of an annual review).
- In collaboration with the marketing team, develop communications and timelines for promotional strategies and Chapter/Region outreach related to certification.
- Working with an internal team, developing internal communications for internal team to be aware of certification developments, timelines and FAQs.
- Be aware of certification industry legal and government affairs developments, as well as trends.
Administration and Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop budgets and monitor spending to meet objectives.
- Facilitate communication and understanding of strategic programs with staff.
- Partner with strategic and experience/environment design aspects of events, as requested by the Executive Director and Meetings team.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions. On occasion, the individual must be able to do moderately demanding physical activity such as handling and opening boxes weighing 35-40 pounds, standing and walking extensively throughout the day.
