Senior Automation Test Engineer

Our client operates within the food manufacturing and direct distribution sector, with a strong specialization in frozen and ice products. The company’s core business model focuses on delivering these products directly to end consumers across multiple European countries, ensuring a seamless and efficient distribution process.

The project focuses on developing a Point of Sales solution for drivers, enabling seamless, mobile-friendly processing of customer orders, payments, and deliveries directly from the field. We are looking for a colleague responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test suites using Selenium and REST Assured, ensuring high-quality delivery across web applications and APIs through reliable, scalable test automation.

Responsibilities:

• Shape and lead automation strategy: Define and implement scalable automation practices aligned with the overall test strategy for an android application
• Build and maintain test automation: Develop and maintain automated tests targeting backend logic, APIs, and database interactions, with a focus on data consistency and early defect identification.
• Optimize frameworks and execution: Enhance automation frameworks for performance and manage Selenium Grid and parallel execution for faster test cycles.
• Integrate with CI/CD: Embed automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality and faster feedback loops.
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with QA, developers, product teams, and stakeholders to resolve defects and align testing with business goals.
• Mentor and support: Guide junior and mid-level QA engineers, participate in code reviews, and share best practices to promote learning and consistency.
• Report and improve: Generate test metrics, analyze results, and contribute to ongoing improvements in quality processes and tools.

Must have: 

• 5+ years of experience in Automation Test Engineering
• Advanced Java skills with applied experience in test automation using Selenium WebDriver
• Experience with API testing and automation for web services (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
• Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust, LoadRunner).
• Strong understanding of app application behavior
• Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, Agile/Scrum practices, and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, TestRail)
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for diagnosing test failures and enhancing test coverage
• Knowledge of Unix based environments (e.g. macOS)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments

Nice to have: 

• Familiarity with containerization and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure)
• Background in BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or CodeceptJS
• Exposure to mobile test automation using frameworks like Appium
• Hands-on experience with modern automation tools such as Playwright or Cypress
• Understanding of testing strategies for scalable, distributed systems
• German skills
