  • Maintain acute awareness of significant financial risks, sensitivities and drivers and their status; anticipate requirements for analysis and proactively offer reliable analysis/insights to drive and support commercial decision making.
  • Prepare management reporting with clear, insightful commentary; identify trends, emerging issues and drivers of assigned business unit performance for all key stakeholders.
  • Produce budgets and reforecasts, working with business unit managers to ensure revised assumptions and figures are aligned, reasonable and meet objectives.

The Finance Business Partner is an integral part of the Finance team, with a specific focus on providing decision support and finance business partnering with operational business units to achieve the EML Group’s strategic and commercial objectives.
 

The role requires partnering with the business with a view to maximising commercialism through influencing decision making and supporting assigned business units to understand, maintain acute awareness of, monitor, challenge and drive their financial performance. This includes creating and adapting financial models to support pricing, tenders, and profitability analysis, as well as compilation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecasts.

This will be a permanent, full time position based in the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Tweed Heads office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the business to achieve strategic objectives with a view to maximising commercialism. Maintain acute awareness of significant financial risks/sensitives/drivers and their status, anticipate requirements for analysis and proactively offer reliable analysis/insights to drive and support commercial decision making.
  • Prepare management reporting, providing clear insightful commentary, identifying trends, emerging issues, and drivers of assigned business unit performance to all key stakeholders.
  • Produce budget and reforecast information, working with business unit managers to ensure that revised assumptions and figures are aligned, reasonable and meet objectives.
  • Prepare reports that meet the presentation, information, and quality requirements for the Board/Executive
     

ABOUT YOU

  • More than 2+ years demonstrated experience in a similar business partnering role, working within a fast-paced business environment.
  • Previous role working in the analysis of data and identification of trends and anomalies.
  • Experience in insurance would be highly regarded.
  • Exposure to BI systems and tools (preferred)
  • Adept at using budgeting, forecasting and general ledger systems.
  • CA or CPA Qualified.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Advanced Excel (able to utilise complex formulae to build efficient and flexible models/reports
