Requirements:

  • Visit swine farms to assess herd health needs, collect samples, coordinate with the laboratory to develop customized autogenous vaccines, and present tailored solutions to customers
  • Achieve consistent growth in sales and gross margin within assigned accounts; build forecast reports for production and inventory management
  • Lead territory expansion and sales growth, establish strategic plans for key customers, and manage the full sales process from prospecting to startup program implementation
  • Collaborate across functions on marketing plans, maintain high-level customer relationships, deliver technical sales presentations, attend industry events, and target about 20 customer meetings per month; team selling as needed

Overview:

Kemin Biologics, a division of Kemin Industries, is seeking a Technical Service Veterinarian to lead the charge in advancing autogenous vaccine solutions for the swine industry. The Technical Service Veterinarian will combine technical expertise with commercial acumen to drive adoption of autogenous vaccines among leading swine producers. As a linchpin in our market entry strategy, this role bridges science and sales - delivering tailored solutions that elevate herd health and drive profitability. The Technical Service Veterinarian will be accountable for meeting key performance targets across sales, margin, and selling expenses.

Responsibilities:
  • Visit swine farms to assess herd health needs and identify potential vaccine targets
  • Collect samples directly from the farm, including relevant pathogens
  • Coordinate with the laboratory to analyze samples and develop customized autogenous vaccines
  • Present and sell tailored vaccine solutions based on lab findings and farm-specific need
  • Achieve consistent growth in sales and gross margin within each of the assigned accounts,
    in accordance with yearly sales budgets.
  • Build forecast reports that will feed consensus meetings with sales information for
    production and inventory management.
  • Lead Kemin’s business unit expansion and sales growth in the territory.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams in developing and implementing a marketing plan
    for the territory.
  • Carry out specific responsibilities in each step of the sales process.
  • Identifying prospective customers.
  • Developing, executing, documenting and maintaining sufficient customer sales projects to
    exceed sales growth expectations for the territory.
  • Authoring and executing strategic plans for key customers.
  • Establishing relationships with individuals at the all levels of the customers’ organization.
  • Making technical sales presentations on Kemin products/services.
  • Cooperating with product development efforts.
  • Closing the sale and implementing the startup programs.
  • Obtain on average 20 meetings with customers each month.
  • Continued relationship building and growth with customers after the sale.
  • May work together with other Account Managers in a team selling approach.
  • Responsible for conducting high level meetings as well as assist customers with testing
    products in the manufacturing plant.
  • May mentor account representatives.
  • Attends industry tradeshows, conferences, and events.

Qualifications:
  • Education
    • Doctorate Degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with 5+ years of experience
  • Must have and maintain an insurable driving record
  • A solid understanding of biological sciences in order to prepare and present detailed technical and commercial presentations to prospective customers.
  • Prior experience in managing sales projects to a successful completion.
  • A high degree of energy and personal motivation, demonstrated project and time management skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office products and database development programs and the ability to train others in these systems.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
