6 Months Contract
Payrate: $80.00 - $90.00 p/hr

Position Overview
The SDLC Process Engineer serves as the architect and driver of operational excellence across Odyssey's software development lifecycle. This role is responsible for assessing current-state practices and designing, documenting, and operationalizing standardized SDLC processes and controls to support secure, compliant, and efficient delivery.
Reporting into the technology or delivery governance function, this role bridges the gap between governance intent and technical execution, ensuring SDLC processes are clear, enforceable, and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess current-state SDLC practices and design standardized, future-state Process Definition Documents for all steps and stages. Examples may include:
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) guidance
    • Quality assurance guides and templates
    • Go-Live / Release Management checklists
    • Developer ready security and compliance requirements/user stories
    • Risk Assessment and control alignment
  • Stand up and maintain a centralized SharePoint Activity Library as the single source of truth for approved processes, templates, activity/role guidance, and evidence artifacts, with clear ownership and version control.
  • Lead operational rollout and adoption across pilot and subsequent teams by:
    • Running workshops with SMEs (DevOps, application teams, Security, Compliance) to review, refine, and finalize processes.
    • Delivering guided walkthroughs and practical Application Guidance materials that demonstrate how to apply new processes in day-to-day work.
    • Providing targeted, role-based training and job aids to drive consistent application of SDLC processes.
  • Define and establish baseline SDLC metrics that measure process adoption, control coverage, evidence completeness, and execution quality.
  • Contribute to the design of SDLC dashboards, incorporating SDLC health and governance views and coordinating with security/AppSec stakeholders to ensure audit-ready reporting.
  • Ensure SDLC processes and artifacts meet internal governance, SOX, security, and data protection requirements and are suitable for ongoing operational use and external/internal audits.

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience in SDLC process design, standardization, and documentation within a complex, regulated, or enterprise environment.
  • Strong background in software delivery, IT governance, or PMO/SDLC process management, with familiarity across UAT, release management, requirements management, and risk assessment.
  • Experience building and managing documentation and knowledge repositories (e.g., SharePoint) with structured taxonomies, ownership, and version control.
  • Technical knowledge of AzureDevOps and ServiceNow
  • Demonstrated ability to lead workshops and training with cross-functional stakeholders (technology, security, compliance, business) and drive process adoption and change.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience defining process and governance metrics and contributing to dashboards or management reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate governance and compliance requirements into practical, usable process guidance for delivery teams.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in an environment with multiple stakeholders, evolving standards, and time-boxed delivery expectations.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., financial services, insurance) with exposure to SOX, security, and data protection controls.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or comparable SDLC tooling and CI/CD environments.
  • Prior involvement in SDLC transformations, process improvement initiatives, or Deliver/Run governance programs.
  • Experience collaborating with Application Security / DevSecOps teams on integrating security and compliance requirements into SDLC processes.
