Roles & Responsibilities

  • 1-3 years of industry experience with increasing responsibility related to the duties of this role.
  • Strong understanding of insurance terminology, broker functions, and the various lines of business insurance (construction risks preferred).
  • Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license.
  • Currently hold or actively pursuing an insurance designation with willingness to pursue advanced designations and continuing education.

Requirements:

  • Understand contractual language, order AI endorsements, follow up with underwriting, and communicate endorsement changes to clients and/or client managers as needed.
  • Support one or more Client Managers or Client Executives on a designated book of business, with day-to-day servicing such as issuing proofs of insurance, gathering renewal documentation, and data entry for quotes.
  • Process endorsements with carriers, and document transactions; review binders, policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy, and deliver to clients; manage invoices and accounts receivable; input claims data when required.
  • Maintain files and documentation per policy; adhere to the company's Quality Management Program; communicate effectively (verbal and written) with clients and internal teams; backup other functions as needed.

WHO YOU NEED TO BE

  • You have the needed expertise and (1-3 years) of industry experience showing increasing responsibility directly related to the performance of the duties below.
  • A good understanding of insurance terminology, the general functions of an insurance broker, and the various lines of Business Insurance.
  • You have an active P&C license.
  • Currently hold or be in the process of obtaining an insurance designation with a willingness to pursue advanced insurance designations and continuing education.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Prioritize tasks, set, and achieve goals, think logically in solving problems, and present results neatly, with clarity and precision in both oral and written form.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in Applied Epic and with Construction risks preferred. 


THE JOB


A Certificate Specialist contributes to C3’s success by performing the following tasks:

  • Understand contractual language, order specific AI endorsements, follow up with underwriting, communicate with clients and / or CM as needed regarding endorsement changes.
  • Supports one or more Client Managers or Client Executive on a designated book of business or Team.
  • Support in day-to-day servicing on clients to include:
  • o Issuing proofs of insurance
  • o Gather documentation needed for new and renewal marketing, such as prior policies, loss runs and motor vehicle reports.
  • o Entering data needed to produce quotes into various carrier systems.
  • o Prepare summary of Insurance for renewal or mid-term reviews.
  • o Process, and request endorsement transactions with carriers and document transactions in management system.
  • o Review binders, policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy and deliver to client.
  • o Provide invoices and statements to clients and review accounts receivables to ensure timely payment on outstanding invoices.
  • o Enter claims data into management system and transmit to carrier when needed.
  • o Review and deliver premium audits to clients.
  • Backup team in other functions as needed.
  • Maintain files and documentation of communication following company policy and professional standards outlined by the Department of Insurance.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills for both client and internal communication.
  • Adherence to the stated expectations of the C3’s Quality Management Program.

The applicable base hourly pay for this role is $21.00 - $26.00/ hour. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
