Job description

This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone.


Our client is a U.S.-based private equity firm focused on acquiring and growing small B2B services businesses across sectors such as biopharma, eldercare, industrial automation, electrical power, and insurance services. As part of their long-term growth strategy, they are building an internal outbound team to generate proprietary deal flow through direct outreach to business owners and strengthen their acquisition pipeline.

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative (BDR) will support outbound deal sourcing through high-volume cold calling, serving as the first point of contact with U.S.-based small business owners. This role is focused on introducing the firm, building rapport quickly, identifying interest in selling, and booking qualified follow-up conversations with the investment team.

Key Responsibilities

Outbound Prospecting & Cold Calling

  • Conduct high-volume outbound calls to U.S. business owners using provided lead lists.

  • Deliver a clear and professional introduction to the firm.

  • Build rapport quickly and establish credibility within the first minutes of the call.

  • Handle objections and navigate conversations confidently.

Qualification & Appointment Setting

  • Assess business owner interest in selling or exploring opportunities.

  • Qualify leads based on basic criteria and conversation signals.

  • Schedule meetings between interested prospects and the investment team.

  • Ensure smooth handoff with proper context and notes.

Pipeline Management & Follow-Ups

  • Log all call activity, notes, and outcomes in HubSpot.

  • Manage follow-up cadence, including callbacks and nurture conversations.

  • Re-engage prospects across multiple touchpoints, typically 5–6 attempts per lead.

  • Send follow-up emails and calendar invites.

Performance & Optimization

  • Meet or exceed daily and weekly KPIs related to calls, conversations, and meetings booked.

  • Track and report on performance metrics and pipeline activity.

  • Continuously refine messaging and approach based on results.

  • Participate in team check-ins and coaching sessions.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in cold calling, appointment setting, B2B sales, or business development.

  • Experience using CRM tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar platforms.

  • Experience in private equity, M&A, or financial services outreach is a plus.

  • Experience calling small business owners in the U.S. is a plus.

  • Exposure to blue-collar or trades industries is a plus.

  • Background in consultative or relationship-based sales is a plus.

Skills

  • Excellent spoken English with a neutral or near-neutral accent.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly over the phone.

  • Comfortable working in a high-volume outbound environment.

  • Resilient, proactive, and results-driven approach to outreach.

  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined follow-up habits.

  • Quick learner able to adapt messaging based on feedback.

  • Reliable internet connection and professional remote work setup.

  • Full-time availability during U.S. business hours (EST).

  • Understanding of business acquisition concepts is a plus.

  • Ability to represent a professional investment firm with credibility and confidence.
