Position Overview
The Program Manager, NET+ Software as a Service (SaaS) is responsible for the strategic management, stewardship, and growth of key cloud offerings within the Internet2 NET+ portfolio. This role manages a diverse portfolio of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions—including secure document workflows, visual collaboration, student engagement portals, high-performance research data management, and tools for digital identity and password management —that are essential to the administrative and academic missions of the research and education (R&E) community.
We are seeking a highly adaptable professional to manage a portfolio of 3–5 NET+ services, collaborate with peers on the intake and evaluation of new services into the portfolio, and lead communities of practice that support institutional adoption and shared learning. This role operates within Internet2’s NET+ program, which supports nearly 600 research and higher education institutions working together to manage risk and maximize opportunities when adopting commercially offered technology.
Key Responsibilities (In Order of Focus)
Program Management & Operational Stewardship
- Oversight of the lifecycle of assigned NET+ services, including evaluation, launch, operational management, and potential retirement.
- Maintain strong operational oversight across program health, governance structures, and provider relationships.
- Monitor service adoption trends and community feedback to identify opportunities for program growth and improvement.
- Coordinate marketing and community engagement efforts to ensure alignment with NET+ program principles, community expectations, and contractual agreements.
Community Collaboration & Engagement
- Cultivate active collaboration among participating institutions to ensure NET+ services reflect the needs and priorities of the R&E community.
- Facilitate Service Advisory Groups (SAGs) and working groups that guide the direction and improvement of NET+ services.
- Build and sustain communities of practice where institutional leaders share experiences, best practices, and adoption strategies.
- Maintain active communication channels with subscribing institutions and gather feedback to translate into actionable insights.
Vendor & Provider Relationship Management
- Serve as a primary liaison between Internet2 and commercial service providers participating in the NET+ program.
Agreement & Lifecycle Management
- Coordinate updates to NET+ service agreements as offerings evolve, including changes to product features, pricing structures, revenue-sharing models, and go-to-market approaches.
- Work with internal stakeholders, Internet2 Legal, and service providers to support contract amendments, renewals, or the development of new agreement models when services or program requirements change.
Cross-Divisional Collaboration
- Collaborate across Internet2 teams to ensure the success and visibility of NET+ services. Work with marketing, community engagement, and research engagement teams to promote NET+ offerings. Represent the NET+ program at conferences, workshops, and community events.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience in program management, product management, or technology partnership roles.
Experience working with cloud-based technologies, SaaS platforms, or enterprise software environments.
Experience working with research universities or higher education IT organizations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical and contractual concepts for diverse audiences.
Ability to travel domestically approximately 10-15% and work with distributed teams in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with enterprise SaaS platforms used in higher education.
Experience managing vendor or strategic partner relationships.
Familiarity with identity, security, accessibility, or procurement considerations in enterprise cloud services.
Experience supporting the lifecycle of commercial service agreements—including amendments, renewals, and evolving pricing or business models.

Expected Hiring Range: $101,100 - $113,800
Starting salary is typically within the first quartile of the range and varies based on experience.
Pay Grade: B-7
For pay transparency purposes, the full salary range is: $101,100 (Entry Point) - $151,700 (Max Point)
