Position Summary
As SVP of AI Strategy will have day-to-day responsibility for Arch’s enterprise approach to Artificial Intelligence, ensuring the organization becomes a smart, adaptable, early adopter of AI with appropriate governance and measurable business impact. This role will help define the AI vision, coordinate cross-segment initiatives, and prepare Arch for macro-level AI impacts across business, workforce, governance, and technology. Responsibilities include external sensing, governance frameworks, and producing the Annual AI Review to assess progress, risks, opportunities, and external trends.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
AI Strategy & Vision
Define and maintain Arch’s enterprise AI strategy aligned with 2030 objectives & vision.
Identify high-impact AI use cases and set measurable goals for adoption and impact.
Develop appropriate governance frameworks to enable AI adoption with the right controls.
Prepare Arch for advances such as agentic AI and autonomous systems.
Executive Leadership Engagement
Actively partner with senior leadership to prepare Arch for AI impact across four pillars:
Business – Customers, brokers, distribution, new products, emerging risks and claims. Workforce – Productivity, training, literacy, and future talent and skills assessment. Governance & Controls – Legal and regulatory compliance, AI efficacy, and ethical AI. Technology – Advanced AI capabilities, and tools, platforms, infrastructure and data needs.
External Sensing & Market Intelligence
Manage and coordinate the AI Advisory Group composed of external AI experts.
Conduct deep external sensing and future visioning to inform strategy.
Monitor competitive landscape and emerging AI technologies.
Enterprise Alignment & Coordination
Lead cross-segment, cross-functional AI initiatives and multidisciplinary working groups.
Establish and manage an AI Center of Excellence forum to enable knowledge sharing among internal AI experts and practitioners.
Ensure alignment between AI programs and broader data/analytics/technology strategies.
Partner with teams to create scalable, adaptable AI-ready platforms, infrastructure and data.
Annual AI Review
Produce an annual report assessing Arch’s AI posture, progress, risks, and opportunities.
Include analysis of external trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership, Board and key stakeholders.
Governance & Controls
Establish and implement an adaptive AI governance framework across all segments.
Ensure governance responds to rapid changes in AI use cases, regulation and technologies.
AI Education, Talent & Skills
Drive AI literacy and adoption across the organization through training and communication.
Identify future talent and skills needed aligned to 2030 objectives.
Required Skills and Abilities:
15+ years in AI strategy, delivery, or technology leadership roles.
Deep understanding of AI technologies, applications, and governance needs.
Deep understanding of insurance-related data, and the data needs to support AI broadly.
Experience managing enterprise-level programs and cross-functional initiatives.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in quantitative, business or technology-related discipline preferred.
Ability to travel 1-2 days monthly or as needed.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
For White Plains, NYC: $260,000 - $350,000/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
