Production Art Draftsman (ZR-633)

Horizon Tech is looking for a Production Art Draftsman who is responsible for translating complex design concepts into precise, manufacturable signage solutions. This role bridges the gap between external designers/clients and internal production teams, ensuring that all artwork is technically sound, production-ready, and aligned with real-world materials, methods, and installation requirements.
Your goal is NOT to design, but to ensure that what is designed can be built efficiently. Success in this position requires strong mechanical understanding, technical drafting expertise, and a deep understanding of sign fabrication. You will own the workflow from file intake through final production output, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and buildability at every stage.

Key Responsibilities:

File Analysis & Technical Review

• Review incoming design files from clients and agencies to ensure compatibility with manufacturing processes (CNC, laser cutting, digital printing, LED integration, etc.) 
• Identify and resolve technical issues, including vector errors, missing fonts/links, scaling problems, and improper file setup
• Ensure files meet internal standards without compromising the original design intent

Drafting & Shop Drawings

• Create detailed shop drawings, message layouts, and scaled technical drawings 
• Produce clear fabrication details, section drawings, and installation diagrams 
• Ensure all drawings clearly communicate materials, construction methods, and assembly requirements 
• Make and ensure correct documentation of changes to drawings and scope of project when needed

Pre-Production & File Preparation

• Prepare production-ready files including cut files, print-ready mechanicals, and fabrication layouts 
• Create accurate work orders and production documentation for the production teams use 
• Optimize files for efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability in production
• Use existing file management system and company procedures to ensure all files are organized and accessible

Quality Control Oversight

• Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all files 
• Ensure all deliverables meet internal quality standards before release to production

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Adobe Illustrator Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Illustrator for vector manipulation, file repair, and production setup (not conceptual design). 
• Sign Fabrication Knowledge: Strong understanding of materials, lighting systems (LED), hardware, and installation methods 
• Drafting & Technical Skills: Ability to create clear, accurate shop drawings and detailed fabrication documents 
• Architectural Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and shop drawings 
• Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in the architectural signage or related fabrication industry 
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of how things are built, assembled, and installed in real-world conditions 
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional precision in scaling, layout, color, and file integrity 
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and professionally communicate technical constraints to internal teams

• Job Location: Shaheed-E-Millat Road, off to Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi.
• Job Timings: Onsite, night shift following 9 PM PKT to 5 AM PKT.
