Job role: Data Engineer.

DESCRIPTION:

Experienced Data Engineer with practical experience in developing solutions using Java and Scala, and in delivering system integration or data science initiatives, especially within areas such as fraud detection, financial crime prevention, regulatory compliance, or customer analytics that leverage detection and predictive modelling.

Knowledge and skills:

• Skilled in Agile methodologies, statistical approaches, and detection logic.

• Proficient in data mapping, relational and object-oriented data structures, ETL processes, and tools like Ab Initio and Informatica.

• Adept at parsing and resolving data quality issues.

• Familiar with operational environments, DevOps, and research/analysis.

• Strong command of Hadoop, Spark, Scala/Java, Python, RESTful APIs, JSON, and optionally Elastic, Tomcat/Jetty.

• Experienced with version control systems, IDEs, and solution-building processes.

IT skills:

• Java, Scala, Python.

• Hadoop, Spark, Ab Initio, Informatica.

• ETL processes, data mapping, relational and object-oriented data structures.

• RESTful APIs, JSON.

• Elastic, Tomcat, Jetty.

• DevOps, Agile methodologies, IDEs, version control systems.

• System integration, data science projects, detection/predictive models, data quality management, statistical approaches.
