Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of grant writing experience, preferably in a consulting or nonprofit setting.
  • Proven track record of securing grants from diverse funders, with excellent writing/editing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources, and analyze grant guidelines to determine alignment with client needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop compelling grant proposals, including drafting narratives, preparing budgets, gathering supporting documentation, and ensuring proposals are well-written, persuasive, and compliant with funder guidelines.
  • Manage grant proposal timelines and deadlines, maintain accurate records of submissions and decisions, provide monthly grant sheets for monthly clients, and proactively communicate to prevent delays.
  • Cultivate relationships with funders and grant makers, stay informed about funding trends, and prepare regular progress reports for clients and senior management.

Requirements

VMG Health is seeking a Grant Coordinator to join the team! The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, developing grant proposals, and assisting clients in securing vital funding for their projects and programs.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources. Analyze grant guidelines and requirements to determine alignment with client needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal team members to develop compelling grant proposals, including drafting narrative sections, preparing budgets, and gathering supporting documentation. Ensure that proposals are well-written, persuasive, and compliant with funder guidelines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, understanding their funding needs and objectives, and providing strategic guidance and support throughout the grant writing process. Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and address inquiries.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and revisions of grant proposals to ensure accuracy, coherence, and adherence to funder requirements. Incorporate feedback from clients and internal stakeholders to strengthen proposals and maximize their chances of success.
  • Manage grant proposal timelines and deadlines, ensuring that proposals are submitted on time and in accordance with funder guidelines. Proactively communicate with clients and team members to prevent delays and address any issues that may arise. Must be able to provide Monthly Grant Sheets for Monthly Clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with funders and grant makers, attend meetings and events, and stay informed about funding trends and opportunities. Collaborate with team members to leverage existing relationships and identify new funding prospects.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant activities, including proposal submissions, funding decisions, and reporting requirements. Prepare regular progress reports and updates for clients and senior management.
  • Stay informed about best practices and developments in grant writing and related fields, attending training workshops and conferences, and continuously enhancing expertise.
  • Maintains a positive attitude and contributes to a positive work environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:


Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in grant writing, preferably in a consulting or nonprofit setting.


Knowledge & Skills:

  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and shows commitment to continuous learning by taking initiative to expand their expertise.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing grants from diverse funders.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel & Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Outlook.
