The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Performance Test Lead to join our team. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of applications. This position involves planning, designing, and executing performance tests, as well as analyzing results to identify and address bottlenecks. The Test Lead collaborates with development, operations, and business teams to ensure applications meet performance benchmarks and deliver a seamless user experience. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing cloud-based testing software in Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. This role requires expertise in performance testing as well as system administration in cloud-based environments to support the mission-critical systems of RTX.
What You Will Do:
Define and implement performance testing strategies and methodologies while collaborating with stakeholders to understand performance requirements and translate them into test plans and scripts.
Develop, maintain, and execute performance test cases and scenarios using tools such as OctoPerf, JMeter, and NeoLoad.
Simulate various user loads to test application scalability, reliability, and resource utilization while monitoring application performance during tests to identify bottlenecks and performance issues.
Analyze test results and generate detailed performance reports that provide actionable recommendations to resolve performance issues and improve application efficiency. Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Configure and manage cloud-based performance testing tools such as OctoPerf and NeoLoad.
Automate performance testing processes to align with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Lead and mentor a team of performance testers, ensuring adherence to best practices, while providing technical guidance to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Administer cloud-based testing applications that support the processes and test plans being executed.
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues involving traditional VMs and containerized applications while maintaining high reliability and uptime.
Document processes, policies, and procedures for operations and best practices.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline with 8+ years of direct work experience.
5+ years of experience in performance testing and engineering.
2+ years in a leadership or senior technical role.
2+ years of experience managing infrastructure in production environments.
Proficiency with Azure or AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB Performance Testing, AWS Certified Solution Architect) are a plus.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Helm is preferred.
Hands-on experience in performance testing for large-scale enterprise applications is preferred.
Experience working in an aerospace or defense environment is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
