Roles & Responsibilities

  • 3+ years of experience in paid media within a team, agency, or adtech platform
  • Experience with key advertising platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok); bonus familiarity with Reddit and Nextdoor

  • Manage the ad buying pipeline to prepare campaigns for launch, including pixel placement, ad sourcing/tracking, final creative delivery, QA processes, vendor payments, and other launch logistics
  • Ensure campaigns are set up in line with best practices and approved media plans, with onboarded audiences and accessible performance data
  • Provide regular campaign performance reports, identify delivery issues, troubleshoot, and communicate program updates to the Paid Media Manager and Director of Marketing, while advising on cost-efficient CPM/CPC/CPA strategies and contributing to ad ops tool optimization

About the Role

Courier Newsroom is presently looking to hire a Contractor -AdOps Specialist. This position reports to the Paid Media Manager. This is a fully remote consultancy that mainly works on EST hours. 


The Contractor, AdsOps Specialist will design and  implement Courier Newsroom’s paid media programs. The contractor will work closely with the Paid Media Manager, who will facilitate any necessary stakeholder input, to ensure that paid media programs are successfully executed. This includes supporting media planning and buying processes, actively advising on program tactics, and using program reporting to optimize ongoing campaigns and inform future campaigns.

Deliverables as directed by the company:

  • Execute all deliverables  related to ad operations, including trafficking, troubleshooting, optimization, and reporting of ad campaigns across all platforms including, but not limited to: Meta, Google, Programmatic, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit, Nextdoor in line with project timelines
  • Run the ad buying pipeline to ensure that campaigns are ready for launch including pixel placement, ad sourcing/tracking, finalized creative delivery, Q/A processes, vendor payment, and other logistics required to ensure timely and efficient program launches
  • Confirm campaigns are set up in a way that is aligned with best practices and company approved media plans
  • Ensure that audiences are properly onboarded in advance of program launches and to access data related to performance of live campaigns
  • Provide regular reports that track campaign status, identify and troubleshoot delivery issues, and review reporting data for quality assurance 
  • Manage and coordinate campaign functions by ensuring line items are distributed across all platforms effectively as directed by the company.
  • Audit + implement ad ops tools to address workflow inefficiencies, improve testing, maintain inventories, and automate ad scheduling as directed.
  • Deliver guidance of industry best practices for cost-efficient CPM/CPC/CPA strategies
  • Clearly communicate regular program updates to the Paid Media Manager and Director of Marketing


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working within a paid media team, agency, or adtech platform
  • Knowledge and experience working in key advertising platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, etc.). Bonus experience: Reddit, Nextdoor 
  • Experience building ad performance reports. Must have proficiency in Excel and Google sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational/project management skills; ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • A detailed and curious understanding of the media landscape, including the desire to stay up to date on changes to policies both in the broader media space and political space
  • Strong problem solving skills and interpersonal skills; ability to respond to crises calmly and with poise including navigating potential ad policy violations, business verifications, and ad restriction periods 


Additional Skills (preferred but not required)

  • Software Experience in any of the following: CRM (Hubspot preferred), Google Analytics, Sailthru, Meta and Google self-serve ad platforms
  • Experience on a campaign, political organization or local news organization, focused on persuasion and mobilization oriented paid media programs
  • Copywriting and/or graphic design experience (Adobe or Canva)

    • ~20 hours/week
    • $800-900/week
