Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager of Producer Reporting and Eco-modulation on the Data and Analytics team, this person is responsible for analyzing data related to sustainable packaging data reporting, with a focus on supporting eco-modulation EPR initiatives. This role combines expertise in data analytics with knowledge of sustainable packaging and environmental impact assessment.

As part of various eco-modulation efforts, CAA advances eco-modulation initiatives by designing and implementing bonus and incentive/malus schemes that encourage producers to adopt more environmentally friendly packaging solutions. Through these mechanisms, CAA rewards companies that use recyclable, reusable, or otherwise sustainable materials, while imposing higher fees or fewer benefits on those whose packaging has a greater environmental impact. This approach motivates producers to innovate and improve the ecological performance of their products, aligning industry practices with broader sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities

Lead analysis for eco-modulation reporting 

  • Develop andmaintainanalytical models to assess the environmental impact of packaging materials and processes, such as life cycle assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and interpret data related to eco-modulation projects.
  • Prepare reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality in all analyses and reporting.
  • Support thedevelopment ofeco-modulation programs in compliance with the regulatory requirements, includingcreation and refinement of eco-modulation strategies based on data-driven insights.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes related to eco packaging and environmental sustainability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven experiencein data analysis withdata-focusedapplications for both internal and externalusers.
  • Familiarity with data validation, governance,anddatasystemintegrationbestpractices.
  • Strong understanding of eco packaging principles and environmental impact assessmentmethodologies.
  • Experience with solid waste and recycling data,and/or packagingreporting or EPRis anasset.
  • Experience working in an agile software developmentenvironment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets,identifyactionable insights, to createstructurewhere it does not exist.
  • Ability to workindependently and as part of ateam;internally and with a broad range of interestedparties.
  • Exceptional communication,presentationand interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside theorganization.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy,preciseness,andcompliance.
  • Excellent time management andorganizationalskills, including working with remote employees across varied geographies and timezones.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment working at a rapid pace withflexibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s and orMaster’sdegree in BusinessAnalytics, Engineering,EnvironmentalScience,DataScience,or related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience withdata analysis, preferably within the environmental or packaging sector.
  • 4+ years of experience with managing cross-functional projects with diverse stakeholders both within the organization and outside users.
  • Proficiencyin data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R) and data visualization software.
  • Experience withJira,Salesforce, Experience Cloud, and Workday aplus.
  • Experience in life-cycle assessment software such asSimaProand Sphera a plus

Compensation & Other Information

  • Location: Fully Remote with potential for in-personmeeting
  • Compensation:Based on a variety of factorsin accordance withapplicable law, including the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location. 
  • Reports To:Manager of Producer Reporting and Eco-modulation
