  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field (preferred).
  • 3+ years of successful contract or capital goods selling experience, preferably including dealer direct salesperson experience.
  • Advanced selling and consultative selling skills (lead generation, new business development, account penetration, negotiation and contracts).

Requirements:

  • Conducts all sales activities and processes within the MillerKnoll sales process, driving sales through the local/proximate dealer; providing support to current customers; unlocking new business opportunities in smaller markets.
  • Works strategically with the sales team across MillerKnoll to provide opportunities where more specialized help is needed.
  • Monitors market conditions, product innovations, competitors' products and prices, and sales; keeps RSDs/AVPs up-to-date on latest happenings in these smaller markets to inform future resourcing plans.
  • Maintains Salesforce (CRM) information to enable accurate monthly forecasts of expected sales volume by account and product line.

The Market Development Executive is responsible for driving revenue in an assigned territory and/or market by working with both the local dealer and broader MillerKnoll sales team.  These markets will typically have less specialized selling support. Therefore, the Market Development Executive role serves the entire market and/or territory, helping drive business through the dealers, providing support to current customers, working with influencers in the A&D, Real Estate, Design, Project Management communities to increase specifications, and pursuing new accounts.  

This position is based in Calgary and candidates must live in Calgary. The position also covers Edmonton and Winnipeg therefore candidates must be willing and able to travel.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Conducts all sales activities and processes within the parameters of the MillerKnoll sales process, utilizing corporate tools/resources provided, including: driving sales through their local/most proximate dealer; providing support to current customers; unlocking new business opportunities in smaller markets

  • Works strategically with sales team across MillerKnoll to provide opportunities where more specialized help needed

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of successful contract or capital goods selling experience, preferably including experience as a dealer direct salesperson.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced selling skills, e.g. qualify prospects, lead generation, new business development, account penetration, strategic selling, conceptual selling, issues-based selling, consultative selling, negotiation and contracts (closing).

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to collaborate and influence.

  • Innovative, self-starter with the self- confidence and ability to represent MillerKnoll in a professional, ethical manner to gain a high level of confidence.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, at all levels of the organization and able to build long term relationships with customers/partners.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication ability with strong emphasis on listening.

  • Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously learn and must be results-oriented.

  • Expertise within a dealer environment with sales planning capabilities.

  • Thorough knowledge of MillerKnoll products, services and culture, as well as the ability to distinguish MillerKnoll products/services from the competition.

  • Ability to travel and perform other job duties as needed.

Compensation range for this role is $140,000.00 - $150,000.00. Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors.
