About the role

As a Senior Accountant at Fortis Games, you will be a key architect in supporting the financial operations of our rapidly scaling, global mobile gaming studio. This is a high-impact role where you will manage the 'full-picture' for our international entities, with a specialized focus on shaping our revenue recognition policies (ASC 606). You will collaborate across Game Teams and Finance to ensure accuracy in everything from overseeing multifaceted revenue cycles to managing essential regional operations, playing a vital part in building a world-class finance function.

What you’ll achieve

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) and company policies.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue.
  • Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in dedicated locations, in coordination with external and internal partners.
  • Manage invoicing and accounting activities for multiple international entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support audit processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Demonstrated expertise in mobile gaming revenue recognition, specifically within Free-to-Play (F2P) environments and ASC 606 standards.
  • Proven track record managing full-cycle accounting and international reporting under both IFRS and GAAP; CPA or Chartered Accountant designation strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis using Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
  • Hands-on experience navigating enterprise accounting and reporting ecosystems such as Workday, Adaptive Insights, SAP Ariba, and Looker.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to apply critical thinking to build financial processes and policies from the ground up.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments by identifying multiple paths to achieve financial outcomes.
  • Experience driving complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and global budgets; exposure to royalty accounting strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to translate technical financial data for non-finance teams.
