Who You Are:

Our team is seeking a talented and creative Modeller to work alongside our incredible team of Minecraft Set Designers to bring YouTube scripts and storyboards to life in an visually engaging way through custom art and models.

Your Responsibilities and Skills:

• Model Creation from Design Briefs: Translate design briefs or scripts into tangible Minecraft models that facilitate the enactment of scripted events, ensuring fidelity to the intended narrative.

• Engaging Model Design: Design visually appealing and engaging models that resonate with the core audience, primarily young children, ensuring both visual appeal and functional relevance to the video's themes and content.

• Animated Model Implementation: Animate models to fulfil their scripted functions effectively, bringing them to life within the Minecraft environment and enhancing the storytelling experience.

• 2D Sprite and Graphic Design: Create 2D sprites and graphics that serve as standalone assets or representations for existing 3D models, enhancing visual storytelling and supplementing the Minecraft gameplay experience.

• Standard Minecraft Visual Style Execution: Execute ideas and concepts into Minecraft objects or characters while adhering to the standard visual style of Minecraft, ensuring consistency and authenticity within the game's aesthetic framework.

• Textures and models may include: Blocks; Items; Entities; Player Skins; Misc textures such as GUI textures or screen overlays

Requirements:

• Able to create character/creature models using Blockbench

• Able to create inanimate object models using Blockbench

• Familiarity with animating Geckolib models in Blockbench

• Able to texture Minecraft models using Blockbench

• Able to animate 3D models using Blockbench

• Able to create 2D sprites, texturing as pixel art

• Understands how to create textures for Minecraft Java Edition assets (blocks, entities, items, GUIs, etc)

• Understands how to incorporate models and textures into a resource pack for Java Edition (i.e., how to assign Custom Model Data to items)

• Understands how to assign custom textures to mobs with unique names, such as with Optifine, Reselect, or similar mods

• Proficient in Aseprite, Paint.NET, or some other pixeling program

• Ability to create and/or modify models & textures with relatively quick turnaround

• Ability to understand feedback and act on it.

• Familiarity with Minecraft, its gameplay, and stylistic design
