Senior Localization Project Manager


This role involves an independent management of the assigned products as well as the development and/or execution of the diverse initiatives on the account with reporting back to the Production Team Leads & Production Operations Director. This role calls for a professional with a problem-solving mindset who can independently plan and execute assigned initiatives, collaborate effectively within a larger team, or lead a dedicated team to achieve the final goal. Primary responsibilities will include a direct management of approx. 4 individuals (incl. their performance management). 
Most projects are processed automatically from start to finish with little oversight required. Our client’s goal is to increase automation where possible so they can focus on quality and strengthen relationships within their team, with their vendors and with their client. Our client’s team works primarily on managing exceptions, especially urgent requests and improving processes and tools for constant increased efficiency.

Our client’s team works as a global team, with project management support covering all time zones. They have hundreds of linguists who are dedicated specifically to their program. They work hard to train and develop their resources and maintain very low turnover as compared to the industry standard.

This role will involve PST working hours.




Main Duties & Responsibilities:



  • On time and high quality delivery of the projects as per client’s needs 
  • Leading initiatives as assigned by Team Leads, ensuring successful completion
  • Provide support and guidance to others on this global team of project managers and project coordinators.
  • Functional team management of approx. 4 team members (Project Managers & Project Coordinators)
  • Data and Biz Intelligence: Leverage PowerBI and system exports to analyze production data, interpret BI requests, and provide high-level status visibility to the Team Lead.
  • Work with Team Leads to document and implement improvements to internal and client processes with focus on the project management industry standards, incl. pilots
  • Primary point of contact for client on specific aspects of the program and production escalations for assigned product lines
  • Systematic check of high visibility projects/program assets to address issues proactively
  • Working with our client’s specific applications
  • Learning and working with client-specific tools
  • Troubleshooting of internal and client-specific tools






Requirements

The candidate must have/be:

  • Unrelenting Ownership & Drive: This role requires a proactive professional with a 'can-do' attitude and an owner mindset. The candidate must be capable of independently planning and executing initiatives while identifying and raising systemic issues. Beyond mere identification, they must be able to take full ownership for designing technical or process-based solutions and driving them to a successful, finalized conclusion without oversight, collaborating seamlessly within a larger team or confidently leading a dedicated group to achieve objectives.
  • Project leadership experience (leading a team of designated project resources)
  • People management experience (2+ years): Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing remote teams, including conducting formal performance reviews, implementing development plans to aim for low turnover, and managing performance alignment or high-pressure conflict de-escalation with vendors and internal teams.
  • Previous Localization Project Management experience, 5+ years or equivalent 
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a changing environment 
  • Understanding/experience working with more than one language/culture and with remote teams 
  • Experience in direct client facing interactions
  • Large clients experience 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Reporting skills and data interpretation skills (e.g. upward reporting)
  • High-Level user experience in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Calendar. Ideally, Google Workspace. Knowledge of industry Tools (CAT Tools, TMS, Query management, repositories, etc.)
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing (English) and face-to-face online.
  • Technical proficiency working with and troubleshooting different computer platforms, tools and ability to understand proprietary systems.


Ideally, the candidate will have/be:

Experience with Google online tools such as Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.

Flexibility with working hours as required
Documenting processes
Experience working in a quality certified environment (ISO, etc.)
Negotiation skills
