Requirements:

  • Act as SME for assigned applications and provide Level 3 support; analyze business processes and document requirements; collaborate with business leads
  • Develop and maintain Windows and web applications, batch programs, and data imports/exports using the Microsoft technology stack; write and optimize SQL queries and integrate systems via REST APIs and SSIS
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing; define test scenarios; maintain runbooks and operational guides; manage testing in test environments
  • Coordinate small projects across cross-functional teams; track deliverables; liaise with vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements; support SDLC/change management

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Analyst to support and enhance our wholesale insurance platforms. This role combines systems analysis, application development, and vendor product support, with a strong emphasis on SQL and Azure cloud technologies. This role is part of enterprise engineering team developing and maintaining in-house developed applications and commercial-off-the-shelf vendor solutions. The ideal candidate will also bring experience in requirements gathering, mid-level development, functional and non-functional testing, project coordination, and integration across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as SME for assigned applications and provide level 3 support.
  • Analyze business processes and system workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborating with business leads to gather and document requirements.
  • Creating and executing test cases for assigned applications.
  • Submitting support tickets with vendors and tracking through ticket closure.
  • Develop and maintain windows and web applications, batch programs and data imports/exports using Microsoft technology stack and related technologies.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Integrate systems using REST APIs, SSIS, and other middleware tools.
  • Conduct functional and non-functional testing of business applications.
  • Define test scenarios and validate system performance and reliability.
  • Provide ongoing administration and operational support for vendor applications.
  • Support SDLC processes and implement changes to applications adhering to change management processes.
  • Maintain system documentation (runbooks, operational guides, architecture diagrams, etc.)
  • Set up and maintain applications in test environments and provide testing support
  • Support commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) vendor applications, SaaS platforms, and desktop applications.
  • Liaise with vendors to resolve issues and implement enhancements.
  • Coordinate small projects across cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Track deliverables and facilitate communication across business and technical teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems analysis and application development.
  • Programming experience in Scripting, VBA, .NET.
  • Writing code to connect to databases, and consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience in SQL Server database, including writing queries, procedures, SSIS.
  • Experience supporting COTS vendor applications, SaaS products, and desktop applications.
  • Strong testing background (functional and non-functional).
  • Experience with client-server applications, with windows integrated authentication and SSO.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server environments with understanding of how applications and APIs are deployed on Windows servers and IIS.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud concepts, M365, and Azure AD/Entra accounts & groups.
  • Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative and consultative skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of wholesale insurance, insurance related applications.
  • Development experience in .NET technologies and Azure cloud.
  • Experience developing SSRS and Power BI reports.
