Role Overview:  

We are seeking a results-driven Manager of Sales Development to lead and scale our Sales Development organization in the government sector. As a Manager of Sales Development, you will lead a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) responsible for generating high-quality opportunities across our defined ICP where the team will be balancing both inbound and outbound motions.  


This role requires a hands-on leader who understands the nuances of business-to-government (B2G) sales, including how to effectively engage government stakeholders. This role requires a dynamic leader that is comfortable building and executing. You will hire, coach, and develop top SDR talent on public sector prospecting strategies. You will partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to refine ICP targeting and align outbound efforts with broader go-to-market priorities. The ideal candidate is passionate about developing people, building scalable processes, and driving measurable pipeline growth in a B2G environment. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of SDRs to meet and exceed pipeline generation goals in both inbound and outbound motions. 
  • Own outbound strategy and execution, setting weekly and monthly activity and pipeline targets while holding the team accountable to performance expectations. 
  • Provide hands-on coaching in prospecting, messaging, and objection handling to continuously improve performance. 
  • Monitor funnel metrics in Salesforce to identify trends, surface coaching opportunities, and improve conversion rates from first touch to qualified meeting. 
  • Equip SDRs with effective talk tracks, outreach sequences, and objection handling frameworks – iterating on what’s working to increase meeting volume and quality. 
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to ensure SDR activity is aligned with ICP targeting, campaign priorities, and pipeline goals.  
  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors on territory planning and target account strategies to maximize SDR team outbound impact. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of SDR leadership experience selling into state or local government, including managing teams of five or more representatives. 
  • 3+ years of experience in SaaS sales environments, preferably in a B2G or GovTech company. 
  • Experience building and scaling outbound playbooks, and repeatable prospecting processes. 
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop SDRs across all performance levels, from new hires to top performers. 
  • Familiarity with sales engagement and revenue tools such as Gong, SFDC, or similar platforms. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

The US base salary range for this full-time position begins at $90,000 + bonus + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
