OVERVIEW 
Full-time/Permanent Employee  
Location: Hybrid Remote-Hanscom AFB, MA 
 
As a Cloud DevOps Engineer IIyou will develop strategy and integration methodology around design, development and implementation of cloud-based solutions. Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies for hardware and software specifications. Utilize trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvements within existing frameworks, tools and processes. Responsible for systems functionality, performance, and configurations issues. Enables the quick development and release of changes and bug-fixes on an as-required basis and incorporation of feedback from developers/users. Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise. Develops technical solutions to complex problems. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.  
 
The proposed salary range for this position is $110,500-$130,500. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Build and set up new development tools and infrastructure to support continuous integration and deployment  

  • Understand stakeholder needs and translate them into technical solutions for improved automation and system performance  

  • Automate development, testing, and release processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention  

  • Test and examine code written by others, analyze results, and ensure it meets security and performance requirements  

  • Implement cybersecurity best practices to secure systems and protect against threats  

  • Identify technical problems and develop software updates and fixes to optimize system performance  

  • Manage infrastructure projects and processes to ensure reliability and scalability of deployed applications  

  • Test implemented designs and build automation tools for infrastructure provisioning and monitoring  

  • Handle code deployments across multiple environments, ensuring stability and seamless integration of changes  

  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members on DevOps best practices, tools, and methodologies  

  • Monitor system performance metrics and develop strategies to improve efficiency and reliability  

  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and knowledge-sharing opportunities for team members 

  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards to ensure consistency across deployments  

  • Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions  

  • Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded 

  • Identify and forward to your leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area 

  • Participate in growth efforts as requested 

  • Ensure all contractual deliverables are met/exceeded to the customer's satisfaction 

  • Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on) 

  • Within your program, build productive and positive professional relationships with clients 

  • Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned 


KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance 
Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in DevOps, IT operations, cloud engineering, or software development. 

  • Extensive experience with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools 

  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation 

  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including their DevOps tools and services 

  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes 

  • Advanced scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell 

  • DoD 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II certification 

  • At least one cloud certification


PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK Stack 

  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, threat detection, and incident response strategies 

  • Understanding of networking principles, load balancing, and high-availability architectures 

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and DevSecOps principles 

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor junior DevOps engineers while driving best practices across team
