  • Lead development of GIS dashboards and web applications for spatial analysis and investigative visualization

Work Location: Remote, Washington DC area

Geocgi is looking for Senior GIS Solutions Engineer to support our client in the Washington D.C. Area. The candidate will design and implement enterprise GIS capabilities within a federal investigative data environment. This role will lead the architecture and deployment of GIS solutions integrated with large-scale data stored in AWS cloud infrastructure. The Senior GIS Solutions Engineer will design scalable geospatial systems, oversee spatial data engineering workflows, and lead development of GIS and graph analytics applications used to support investigative analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with implementation and configuration of enterprise GIS systems within AWS cloud environments.
  • Design and implement enterprise GIS architecture integrated with AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Deploy and configure GIS platforms supporting enterprise geodatabases, desktop GIS, and web GIS applications.
  • Develop automated pipelines to convert large volumes of tabular data into spatial datasets through geocoding and spatial processing.
  • Design processes to generate graph data representing relationships between entities for link analysis.
  • Lead development of GIS dashboards and web applications for spatial analysis and investigative visualization.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to GIS developers and analysts.

The following are requirements of the Senior GIS Solutions Engineer: 

  • U.S. citizenship with Active Passport.
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of professional GIS or geospatial technology experience
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise GIS architectures
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise or comparable GIS platforms
  • Experience with AWS cloud environments
  • Strong skills in Python, SQL, and spatial data processing


The following are preferred of the Senior GIS Solutions Engineer:

  • Experience with Amazon Redshift or enterprise data warehouses
  • Experience building web GIS applications or dashboards
  • Familiarity with graph analytics or link analysis tools
  • Experience supporting federal or investigative analytics environments


The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $120,000 – $140,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
