Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Best Buddies is the largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people worldwide with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Our programs empower people with IDD to form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure jobs, improve communication and advocacy skills, and live independently, while also offering support for their families.


Job Title: Manager, Stewardship

Department: Special Events

Reports to: Senior Director, Partnerships & Stewardship

Salary Range: $55,000

Location: Work from home, South Florida preferred

 

Position Overview: The Manager, Stewardship is responsible for delivering sponsor benefits for assigned partners across all national events and providing year-round, comprehensive stewardship. This role plays a critical part in ensuring partnership deliverables are fulfilled accurately and on time while supporting strong, long-term sponsor relationships. The Manager, Stewardship works closely with internal teams and senior leadership to support partnership growth and overall event success.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and three to five years of experience in customer service, sponsor management, or a related field
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding writing and proofreading abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain discreet and professional when handling sensitive information
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines with efficient follow-up
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Publisher, Excel, and Word; experience with Adobe and Canva a plus
  • Experience with database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Willingness and ability to travel to Boston, Aspen, Miami, and other locations, with flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed

 

Job Duties included, but are not limited to:

Development & Stewardship

  • Deliver sponsor benefits for assigned partners at major national events, including the Hyannis Port Challenge, Aspen Challenge, Miami Challenge, and Miami Gala
  • Maintain organized, detailed records of sponsor benefits for each event
  • Provide proactive, year-round stewardship and communication for an assigned portfolio of sponsors
  • Maintain accurate sponsor records, communications, and actions in the Raiser’s Edge database
  • Utilize Raiser’s Edge and Summa to manage external communications and track constituent records across all organizational communications
  • Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive donor stewardship plans to increase engagement and retention
  • Collaborate with the data team lead to ensure donor database accuracy and maintenance

  

Partnership Management & Coordination

  • Serve as staff lead for assigned sponsor relationships, managing and tracking all actions throughout the communication lifecycle for national events and beyond
  • Coordinate and execute sponsor deliverables, including but not limited to:
    1. Logo and name listing confirmation and placement
    2. Drafting personalized thank-you notes from the CEO and Founder
    3. Customizing benefits packets and event schedules
    4. Coordinating with internal and external teams
    5. Billing and gift coding
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsor leads to support partnership growth
  • Keep senior leadership informed of sponsor activity, engagement, and opportunities

 

Administrative & Team Support

  • Assist the development team with editing letters, proposals, post-event recap reports, and other written materials
  • Support the Senior Director, Partnerships & Stewardship with special projects and initiatives as assigned
