Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in data analytics, data science, computer science, management information systems, finance, statistics, or related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, Azure Databricks, Databricks SQL, and SQL Server; experience with cloud technologies and data lakehouse; experience with consumer/industry data
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate complex questions into actionable insights for senior leadership; experience in professional services or CPA/advisory firms preferred

Requirements:

  • Develop and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards for FP&A and firm, including forecasting, budgeting, planning data, trends, and leadership insights
  • Own end-to-end FP&A forecasting, budgeting, and planning reporting to support FP&A decisions; translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements
  • Proactively analyze and mine the data lakehouse to identify data quality concerns and opportunities for additional data modeling; support firm initiatives from an FP&A perspective
  • Provide user training and troubleshooting support related to FP&A data and reporting; collaborate with Data Solutions, Data Operations, Finance, and Data Analytics teams

Job Description:

 

As a Data Analytics Senior Associate, you will be a critical team member of the firm's Data and Analytics team. This role is a specialized role focused on supporting FP&A with insights, management reports, and analysis for decision-making processes. You will also be responsible for firm-level reports utilizing financial data and metrics. You will work closely with the Data Solutions, Data Operations, Finance, and Data Analytics team to develop business critical analysis and reporting to enable data driven decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards for FP&A function and firm overall with a focus on reporting forecasting data, budgeting and planning data, and trends, and providing insights for leaders.

  • Own end-to-end forecasting, budgeting, and planning reporting to support FP&A function.

  • Translate business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support FP&A decisions and workflows.

  • Support overall firm initiatives from an FP&A perspective.

  • Proactively analyze and mine data lakehouse to identify additional insights, data quality concerns, and opportunities for additional data modeling.

  • Support users with ad hoc training, troubleshooting, etc. related to FP&A data and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in in data analytics, data science, computer science, management information systems, finance, statistics or related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience performing data analytics in a financial setting (financial statement analysis or development, forecast analysis, trending analytics, understands key finance metrics, chart of accounts, etc.) with strong focus in Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Experience and strong understanding of forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

  • Hands on practical experience and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Power BI, Azure Databricks, Databricks SQL and SQL Server.

  • Experience with consumer-level and industry-level data.

  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership consumption.

  • Experience utilizing cloud-based technologies (preferably Azure) and data lakehouse architecture.

  • Experience with professional service industry or CPA and advisory firms preferred.

  • Be an excellent communicator and collaborator, engaging with multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders and be able to translate business questions and analysis into simple briefings for use by various parties

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment without sacrificing quality.

The pay rate ranges for this position are listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location. Baker Tilly offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package to eligible employees.
The national pay rate range is $74,200 to $148,230
In California: pay rate range is $74,500 to $148,230
