What You’ll Do:

As Senior Solution Consultant, you will help clients optimise and navigate indirect tax regulations with confidence. Applying deep domain expertise, you will be a trusted advisor for Southern Europe (Spain, Italy, Portugal). You will guide prospects and customers through discovery and consultation on Avalara's solutions including indirect tax determination, cross border and reporting. This is a high impact, client facing role where your insight and influence directly contribute to Avalara's growth and our customers' success.

 

This is a remote role and you will report to the Director, Solution Consulting EMEA.

What Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • You will support Sales, Partner, and Business Development teams by providing subject matter expertise on Avalara's indirect tax products and technical capabilities throughout the sales cycle.
  • You will partner with customers to understand their tax, compliance, and integration requirements, delivering expert guidance and tailored recommendations.
  • You will be a technical and regulatory advisor for customers and prospects from presales through implementation kick off. This support ensures a smooth handover, clear alignment on scope and expectations, and a strong start to the delivery journey.
  • Lead detailed product demonstrations and solution consultations, clearly articulating value across both business and technical audiences.
  • Maintain a deep and current understanding of Avalara's products, staying aligned with ongoing product development and roadmap evolution.
  • Proactively track regulatory changes and market trends, flagging relevant updates, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders
  • Enable customers and internal teams with the knowledge required to maximise value from Avalara's solutions.
  • Represent Avalara at industry events, conferences, and partner engagements, delivering demonstrations and addressing technical and regulatory questions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Delivery teams to address complex customer scenarios and influence future enhancements.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
  • 5+ years of experience in SaaS presales, consulting, or solution implementation roles.
  • Knowledge of indirect tax regulations in EMEA. Global experience would be beneficial.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English. Additional European languages would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with major ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft D365.
  • Experience communicating complex technical and regulatory concepts to multiple stakeholders.
  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders, including finance, IT leadership, and C suite executives.
  • Express a natural curiosity for product innovation and regulatory change.
