Web Automation Engineer

Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)
Contract Duration: 1 year
Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% Remote (Candidates can work from anywhere in India)

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Automation Engineer who is a true automation expert—someone who can design and build scalable automation frameworks from the ground up. This role is ideal for an engineer who is passionate about test architecture, modern web automation, and enabling high-quality, fast-moving Agile teams.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Playwright and JavaScript, understands modern automation best practices, and thrives in an Agile/Scrum environment. Experience in the airline industry and familiarity with Mabl are strong pluses.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain web-based automation frameworks from scratch, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and reusability
• Define automation standards, best practices, and framework architecture for web applications
• Develop automated tests for functional, regression, and end-to-end testing using Microsoft Playwright and JavaScript
• Integrate automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery workflows
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and Scrum teams to ensure testability and quality throughout the SDLC
• Analyze application behavior and identify the most effective automation strategies (UI, API, integration)
• Maintain test execution reporting, results analysis, and defect tracking using Jira
• Continuously improve automation coverage, performance, and execution speed
• Mentor team members on automation framework usage and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong experience as an Automation Engineer with a focus on web-based automation
• Proven ability to build automation frameworks from the ground up (this is a core requirement)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Playwright
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript
• Solid understanding of test automation design patterns and best practices
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of automation strategy and execution

Nice to Have

• Experience with Mabl
• Background in the airline industry or other complex, high-availability domains
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
• API and service-level test automation experience
• Experience influencing automation strategy across teams
