Finance Analyst Intern

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Rising senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience (internships and coursework accepted).
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time-management skills, and ability to collaborate effectively with a team.

Requirements:

  • Lead benchmarking analysis of CAA vs. other PROs, nationally and overseas, to identify opportunities for improved business processes.
  • Share learnings for reapplication in the shared service business model and methodology.
  • Develop and implement improved internal tracking capabilities, including state tracking of investments in existing vs expansion material management and analysis of investment rates across states.
  • Collaborate with accounting and program operations to formalize expense recognition policies and lead training sessions on proper cost accounting.

Role Overview

CAA is growing rapidly, and the finance leadership team is getting prepared to provide a full array of reporting/dashboards, as well as improve our support to functions and States regarding performance management, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc requests. To help us implement all projects on a scale, we’re looking for a Finance Intern to support the FP&A, business operations finance with the upcoming projects in sight. The Finance intern will collaborate with the internal finance teams to provide data gathering and insights, reporting assistance, and analytical support needed to accelerate the implementation of upcoming pre-established projects and KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Competitive Intelligence
  • Lead benchmarking analysis of CAA vs. Other PROs, nationally and overseas, toidentifyopportunities for improved business processes.
  • Share back learnings for reapplication in shared service business model andmethodology.
  • Competitivebenchmarkingof CAA costs, from budget activity down to material category level,identifyingand analyzing areas of alignment and deviation.
  • Improved Internal Tracking Capabilities
  • Develop efficient and clear state tracking of investments in existing vs.Expansionmaterial management.
  • Analyze$ / ton, $ / HH and $ / capita investment rates across states, toidentifyproductivity opportunities and developmethodologyforhigh levelemerging state start-up and ongoing cost estimates.
  • Policy documentation
  • Collaborate with accounting and program operations team to formalize expense recognition policies, differentiatingbetweenthe mapping of state vs. National expenses and various state budget activities.
  • Lead training sessions with organizations to communicate and educate on related proper cost accounting.

Skills & Competencies

  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel (e.g.Pivot tables,vlookups)
  • Strong aptitude for working with schedules, templates, and data organization
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team

Qualifications

  • Rising Senior working towardsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0-4 years of relevant experience (internships and coursework accepted)

Compensation & Other Information

  • Location:Fully Remote
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour. Since this is a temporary position, it is not eligible for benefits
  • Interns must have their own laptop and access to high-speed internet.
  • Reports To:Ty Tomco, Senior Finance Manager
