Job Role: Project Manager and Estimator

Compensation range: $2,000 - $2,500 AUD/month

Engagement type: Independent Contractor

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who The Client Is:

Our client is a high-end architectural construction company operating across Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Eastern Suburbs, and Central Coast. They typically run 3–4 concurrent projects at any time, including major alterations and new builds, with around 95% of leads sourced through architects. The office team consists of the business owner, a General Manager/Senior Project Manager, a Senior Project Manager, a Finance Operations Manager and a bookkeeper. 

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator who can work in a hybrid capacity across Project Management and Contract Administration. The role will be mentored directly by the business owner.

The successful candidate will manage the tender process end-to-end, converting won tenders into active projects, and support the wider team with contract administration tasks and project setup. There is also potential for the role to expand into construction-focused Executive Assistant responsibilities for the business owner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage tenders from start to finish using Cubit (Buildsoft) estimating software
• Convert won tenders into new projects and set them up in Procore
• Prepare subcontracts and hand over to senior team members
• Run the tender period and estimating process through Cubit Buildsoft
• Assist with Contract Administration (CA) tasks
• Support scheduling — experience with Microsoft Project or Buildxact/OutBuild preferred
• Potential to assist with construction-focused Executive Assistant tasks for the business owner

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in construction estimating — essential
• Proficiency in Cubit (Buildsoft) estimating software — highly preferred
• Experience with Procore project management software — highly preferred
• Experience or willingness to leverage AI to assist workflows and efficiency 
• Familiarity with subcontract preparation and contract administration
• Experience in high-end residential or architectural construction
• Ability to work autonomously and manage workload remotely
• Strong written and verbal communication in English

Nice to Have:

•  Experience with Microsoft Project or OutBuild scheduling software
• QuickBooks accounting familiarity
• Project management or CA background in addition to estimating
• Executive Assistant or construction administration experience
