Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree and licensed to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction
Experience providing legal guidance on MLS or real estate listing data, including data licensing, governance, and compliance
Strong ability to counsel cross-functional teams (product, business, compliance) on legal risk, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to MLS data usage
Excellent contract negotiation and data licensing drafting skills with a focus on risk mitigation and data-sharing agreements
Requirements:
Serve as the Centralized Legal Data Team’s subject matter expert on MLS and real estate listing data, delivering strategic guidance on acquisition, licensing, governance, and permitted use
Advise on complex MLS industry initiatives and product risk assessments concerning MLS rules and data usage restrictions
Partner with product, business, and compliance stakeholders to enable innovation while ensuring alignment with evolving industry standards
Draft, negotiate, and oversee data licensing and governance agreements and help manage data-related compliance risks

Role Details: Job Title: Legal Contractor – Industry Data
Tentative Start Date: March 16, 2026
Duration: Part-time from 3/16/26 until mid-April approximately, transitioning to a full-time schedule (approximately 40 hours per week) from mid-April through early October.
